Der Tempel des ewigen Feuers - Ateshgah - ist ein authentischer aserbaidschanischer Exot. Es ist praktisch auf der ganzen Welt bekannt. Dieses Gebiet ist bekannt für ein so einzigartiges Naturphänomen wie das Verbrennen von Erdgasauslässen (Erdgas, das auf die Oberfläche gelangt, berührt Sauerstoff und leuchtet auf). Der Tempel in seinem heutigen Zustand wurde im 17.-18. Jahrhundert erbaut. Es wurde von der in Baku ansässigen hinduistischen Gemeinde gebaut, die mit Sikhs verwandt ist. Die Geschichte des Tempels ist jedoch noch länger. Von jeher war dies der heilige Ort der Zoroastrianer - Feueranbeter (ungefähr zu Beginn unserer Ära). Sie schrieben dem unauslöschlichen Feuer mystische Bedeutung zu und kamen dorthin, um das Relikt anzubeten.
Einer der bekanntesten und beliebtesten Touristenorte der "ewigen Flamme" in Aserbaidschan ist der Berg Yanar Dag. In früheren Zeiten war Aserbaidschan ein Land der Feueranbeter, Anhänger des zoroastrischen Kultes Als Manifestation der göttlichen Macht verehrten sie sie und bauten Altäre und Tempel.
Aserbaidschan hat die meisten Schlammvulkane eines Landes, die im ganzen Land verbreitet sind. 350 der 800 Vulkane der Welt befinden sich in der Aserbaidschanischen Republik. Den Informationen zufolge haben Schlammvulkane vor 25 Millionen Jahren ihre Tätigkeit auf dem Gebiet Aserbaidschans aufgenommen. Schlammvulkane sind mit Ölfeldern verbunden. In den Gebieten der Schlammvulkane (Lokbatan, Garadgh, Neft Dashlari, Mishovdagh und andere) gibt es reiche Öl- und Gasfelder. Darüber hinaus werden Lava, Schlamm und Flüssigkeit, die durch Schlammvulkane ausgebrochen sind, als Rohstoffe in der Chemie- und Bauindustrie sowie in der Pharmakologie verwendet. Interessante Fakten: - Geologen der NASA, die den Mars-Planeten untersuchen, kamen zu dem Schluss, dass Schlammvulkane in Aserbaidschan in ihrer Struktur den Hochländern des Planeten ähnlich sind. - Vulkanausbrüche werden als Rohstoff in der Chemie- und Bauindustrie sowie in der Pharmakologie eingesetzt. - Vulkanerde und Schlamm werden zur Behandlung von Erkrankungen des Nervensystems, der Haut und von Rheuma verwendet. - Am 5. September 2004 wurde der größte Schlammvulkan in Aserbaidschan in den Guinness-Weltrekord aufgenommen. - Otman Bozdag ist laut lokalen Medienberichten der zweitgrößte Schlammvulkan. Sein Ausbruch am 23. September 2018 führte zu 4 km langen und bis zu 80 m tiefen Schlammextrusionen.
60 km von Baku entfernt befindet sich das staatliche historisch-künstlerische Reservat „Qobustan“, ein Freilichtmuseum. Es wurde in die Liste des UNESCO-Weltkulturerbes als "herausragender universeller Wert" für die Qualität und Dichte seiner Felszeichnungen aufgenommen - mehr als 6.000 Zeichnungen auf 1.000 Felsen, mehr als 100.000 Artefakte und andere.

Excellent private tour. My guide (Eldar) spoke perfect English and was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. His car was comfortable and immaculately clean. I would highly recommend for private tours of Baku and surrounds.
Very nice trip. Seen all the highlights. Was very quiet everywhere today. So we could look at everything. Only point could be the rather small sedan car for my son and I both 1.93 m not very spacious. Brand new though and drove nicely.

mud volcanoes and yanardag is differnt and uniqe tourist spot.one should not miss both attracions if visiting baku
We are Indians living in Dubai and wanted to spend few days in Baku relaxing. Since my trip was not pre-planned, I decided to take an airport taxi to my hotel and plan my itinerary while I am at Baku. Literally every place like window shopping, suggesting cheap bazars for shopping, suggesting best restaurants, suggesting what to eat and what not to. Joined us along on night walking, street sopping etc.. You name it we enjoyed it like a local. - Driving in Baku/Azerbaijan can be hectic as no one respects basic traffic rules and chances of a police stopping you is absolutely guaranteed, at least 3 times a day. Since he drove us around, we saw may tourists stopped by police on road but we were safe. - Mr. Tarlan suggested cheap and best shopping spots known only to locals and saved us from lot of hassle, especially from counterfeit products... - My best experience in Azerbaijan was on food. Stunning petroglyphs reserve, UNESCO heritage site is the place that took us to the unique world of ancient humans. The stone engravings, scattered on huge boulders, strange landscapes, a mystery to be unraveled. There is an admission ticket to this area and one needs to hire a taxi from Baku to reach this place. The Museum, a 3 km from the area is also a must to understand and appreciate the incredible history of this civilisation. From there, a journey to rare Mud Volcanoes reveals the wonderful geological formations, natural and mesmerizing. The way the little Mud Volcanoes make sounds gurgle and ooze is something seen to be believed. A must to see these rare unusual sights.
