Long drive to the glacier, but totally worth it

Communication with the company was excellent before the tour. They sent several reminders, so I knew exactly where I needed to go. Departure was at 6:30 AM from their office in the centre of Puerto Natales. The tour bus was very comfortable, which made the long drive to the glacier easy. We reached the Chile–Argentina border before 8 AM, when it opens, so we had time to browse a souvenir shop and café there. The border crossing was quick since our bus was first in line, and we continued on to El Calafate. In El Calafate, the tour guide Silvia joined us and did an outstanding job organizing everything, collecting the glacier entrance fees and the boat‑ride fees directly on the bus so we wouldn’t waste time later. Thanks to Silvia’s efficiency, we were able to walk around the glacier and still catch the last boat tour at 2:30 PM. The boat tour is highly recommended, as that day we saw large chunks of ice breaking off, which was spectacular. The tour group was very small and the glacier walking areas were not very crowded either. By 10 PM I was already back at the hotel, so the tour took around 14 hours in total. I can fully recommend this fantastic tour.

Detailed interary of the tour for your references

Really worthy for people with tight schedule but still wanted to experience the Moreno Glacier. We only have one free day at Puerto Natales so instead of staying at Argentina we chose to take a day tour which fit us perfectly. Travelling time : start at 6:30, arrived the Chile Custom at 7am and wait for it to open at 8am, which you have time to get breakfast. Arrived El Calafate at around 12pm when the English Guide joined ( really lovely guide!), and finally arrive the glacier at 1pm. Visiting time : we have 2 hours in total, first hour (13:10~14:15) at the walking trek / balconies. Absolutely enough time to visit all viewing point at red and yellow trails and take some good photos Then from 14:15 to 15:30, we joined the Southern Spirit boat tour for an hour ( 72000 ARS/ person) , amazing experience to see glacier at 300m distance. This is optional, people who don't want to get on the boat can stay at the trek until 15:15. The bus start to leave before 16:00. We return the Puerto Natalie at around 22:00. On the way back there is a checkpoint at gas station to grab some snack but not dinner. Highly recommend to bring your own lunch and dinner. Payment: I paid both the entrance fee and boat tour fee by Visa card. It's okay to bring no cash. !!! Remember to check your PDI (from Chile) and bring no fresh food for the tour due to declaration.

Although a long day with...

Although a long day with a far amount of driving the landscape into Glacier Park and Perito Moreno Glacier is well worth the trip. Very knowledgeable bilingual guide added to experience.

Spectacular , but at a price

Its 5 or 6 hours each way to spend about 2 hours there. The place is great so it all depends on how you tolerate 10 / 12 hours in a bus

Worth the journey

Excellent and absolutely worth the journey. Much larger than glacier grey so really worth seeing while you are in Chile. The navigation (boat trip) and national park entry fees are on top of the cost of this excursion. However the coach is very comfortable and clean toilet facilities

Good to see nature up and close

The glacier was awesome. Getting up close with the boat was a wonderful opportunity . The day trip however, was too long. We spent 10 hrs driving. Its best to split that trip.

Too tough for me

As mentioned in the tour title, it’s just transportation between Perito Moreno Glacier and Puerto Natales. The staying at Perito Moreno was about two hours only despite its departure was around 7AM and its return was around 11PM. It must be suitable for people who want to see Perito Moreno Glacier as a day trip from Puerto Natares but it was too tough for me. AC in the bus didn’t work so it was very cold especially on the way back from Perito Moreno. I ended up to catch a cold.
