Kasachstaner vergleichen die Charyn-Schlucht mit dem Grand Canyon in den Vereinigten Staaten. Und obwohl der Canyon von Charyn zwar kleiner ist als der Grand Canyon, aber seiner Schönheit und Pracht nicht unterlegen ist, kommen hier Wanderer und wild lebende Tiere aus der ganzen Welt. Der Charyn Canyon liegt 200 Kilometer von Almaty entfernt, in der Nähe der Grenze zu China, im Gebiet des Nationalparks Charyn National Park. Der Canyon erstreckt sich 154 Kilometer entlang des Charyn River und besteht aus Sedimentgesteinen, die 12 Millionen Jahre alt sind.

Der Charyn Canyon erstreckt sich 154 km entlang des Charyn River (einer der tiefsten Flüsse der Nördlichen Tien Shan Berge). Wind, Wasser und Sand formten Charyns roten Sandstein zu seinen Formen und Schattierungen. Einige der Klippen ähneln bestimmten Figuren, weshalb einige Teile des Canyons auch das "Tal der Schlösser", die Hexenschlucht und die Geisterschlucht genannt werden. Reiseplan, Reiseroute 09 : 00 – Abfahrt Almaty (3,5 Std. Fahrt, ~200 km). 12 : 30 – Ankunft im Charyn Canyon, zu Fuß durch das Tal der Schlösser zum Fluss. 13 : 30 – Picknick Mittagessen am Fluss. 14 : 30 – Freizeit : Erkunden, Fotos, optionale kurze Wanderungen. 16:00 – Rückkehr zu Fuß zum Parkplatz. 16 : 30 – Abfahrt nach Almaty. 20 : 00–20 : 30 – Ankunft in Almaty.

We had 4 day private tour which included a trip to charyon canyon as well as kolsai lake.. from the day we landed from uae to Almaty..ilyas our guide has been fabulous...he was punctual , courteous ,knowledgeable and was great ambassador of his country..Skyway must be proud of having an employee like him...and he must be rewarded for the same... Lastly. I will always recommend people to visit Almaty as it was an out of the world.. experience ..thanks mainly to Ilyas..
Visiting Charyn Canyon with friends was an unforgettable experience! The views are absolutely breathtaking like a mini Grand Canyon in Kazakhstan. With our best tour guide, Adil, we had a great time exploring, hiking, and taking photos. He made the trip even more enjoyable with his knowledge and friendliness. Highly recommend visiting Charyn Canyon, and if you can, go with Adil he’ll make the adventure even better!
First n foremost our Driver cum guide was the best person.His name was Miras.Very courteous n .helpful.His English was fluent n he showed us all the places.Scenery n weather was good.Will recommend a visit to Almaty to all.
I had an amazing time during the trip. Our Kazakhstan was amazing, the tour was well arranged and the tour guide Nazerke was so great and helpful, she also gave us a lot of information about the places we visited and about the country. We went to Shumbulak ski resort ,Charyn Canyon, Kolsay lake and the alma arslan gorge the tour was amazing! Our driver Sergie was also nice
