Die Hagia Sophia, heute ein Museum, wurde im 6. Jahrhundert von Kaiser Justinian erbaut und war eine der größten Basiliken in der christlichen Welt. Nach der osmanischen Eroberung wurde es zu einer Moschee umgebaut und ist heute eines der prächtigsten Museen der Welt. Die Sultan-Ahmet-Moschee (auch als Blaue Moschee bekannt) ist eines der berühmtesten Monumente in der türkischen und islamischen Welt. Sie ist eine großartige Kreation im klassischen osmanischen Stil. Die Moschee verfügt über sechs hoch aufragende Minarette und 260 Fenster, die ihre riesige Hauptkammer, die mit mehr als 20.000 Iznik-Fliesen geschmückt ist, beleuchtet.
Der größte und älteste Palast der Welt, Topkapi, ist das Kronjuwel des Osmanischen Reiches. Mit seiner Schatzkammer und exotischen Gebäuden mit Blick auf das Goldene Horn verspricht Ihr Besuch in Topkapi ein wirklich faszinierendes Erlebnis. (Dienstag geschlossen)
Das Hippodrom, das Stadion des antiken Byzanz, beherbergte 100.000 Zuschauer und präsentierte Objekte aus allen Ecken des Reiches. Davon sind ein ägyptischer Obelisk und eine Bronzeskulptur von drei verschlungenen Schlangen aus Delphi erhalten.
Der Grand Bazaar, der seit dem 14. Jahrhundert in Betrieb ist, ist mit 58 Straßen und über 4.000 Geschäften einer der größten überdachten Märkte der Welt. Der Basar ist vor allem für seine Schmuckstücke, Lederwaren, Töpferwaren, Gewürze und Teppiche bekannt. (sonntags geschlossen, zusätzliche Zeit wird an den anderen Standorten verbracht)

We booked a tour of Turkey with TURKLAND Travel Agency our agent Ibrahim planned out our trip that included more than we expected. He did such a fabulous job along with the tour guide that stayed with us through our entire trip. Accommodations, restaurants, transportation and even a medical situation were taken care of by them with such ease. The tour guide was absolutely wonderful taking our needs into full consideration. I can’t say enough about how great the experience was and how accomplished the guide was! We will definitely use their services again. Ibrahim from Turkland Tours exceptional efficiency meant we knew we were in good hands before we even arrived in Istanbul. Days before we arrived we received the necessary information for our airport transfer to our hotel in the city. Seamless. Our excellent guide Onur showed us around all the major city highlights and quite a few hidden gems over a couple of days. He left us with enough information to get around the city by ourselves for the next few days as well. Nothing has been a problem for either of them. Ours was a short 3 day trip to Istanbul. Mr Ibrahim made seamless arrangements from pickup from airport to sightseeing and final drop off at terminal. My grandparents were Greeks from Alatsata. I wanted to understand what their life was like in the early 20th Century. Ibrahim and Sinan arranged a special program for me to walk in my grandparents footsteps in Asia Minor. There is so much Greek history in Turkey. I’d never have found the churches without Sinan. It was very well organised. I asked to stay in traditional Greek homes and to eat local food. Our driver Murat was excellent and the vehicle was safe and very comfortable.
