I’ve visited Pompeii several times before, but this visit was the best! It began even before we arrived. Our guide, Daniela, contacted us beforehand to make sure we had bought our tickets and to verify our travel plans and meeting point. Being a private tour of 4 people, she was able to navigate around the larger groups and bypass much of the crowds while still seeing the highlights of Pompeii. She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. We appreciated her flexibility and tailoring the tour to meet our interests and needs. We learned not just about the ruins, but also history of Pompeii and Rome. Although the price of a private/small group tour is a bit more expensive, we highly recommend it instead of a large group tour. And if you are lucky enough to get Daniela – you will have an extra special day!

Daniela, our guide, was amazing. There are two prongs that make a successful visit to a famous site with a guide. Knowledge of the site and understanding visitors' needs. Daniela knows Pompeii through years of experience. She walked us through very interesting areas of the city, pointing out details, big and small, that kept us engaged. She also read the room with our family. We were somewhat limited on time and knew the heat might be a concern. She customized our visit and made us feel heard and welcomed. I could not recommend her more.

We toured Pompeii with Vincenzo and he was absolutely fantastic. It can sometimes be a challenge to keep a whole family fully engaged in a historical site for hours but Vincenzo managed it effortlessly. He brought the ruins to life with incredible stories, deep historical knowledge and a great sense of humor. He knew exactly how to navigate the crowds and showed us hidden gems we would have completely missed on our own. If you want a guide who makes history fascinating for all ages, ask for Vincenzo! Legend! 10/10 would recommend!

Our Daniela was very knowledgeable and kept our two teenagers engaged and asking questions. We did the 2 hour tour, felt we were able to see and learn so much in that time. The site is so expansive that it would have been impossible to see so much on our own

Claudia was an amazing guide. She was very knowledgable about the history of Pompei. She made our visit an experience to remember.

We deliberately chose to do this tour with a private guide. It not cheap but for us it was worth it. If youre not an historian or archeologist and just want the lowdown of what happened then this is perfect. Just around 2 hours and we saw the main highlights of Pompeii. Many people just wanted to wander round on their own but they were constantly needing directions (from our guide of where this or that is located!) Daniela (our guide) was perfect. Excellent English and such a fun style. She made Pompeii come alive and we could imagine ourselves "back in the day"! We drove ourselves there (from Sorento). Parked for €10. Excelleny half day excursion.

We did a two hour tour of Pompeii with Claudia. We were a family of five, two adults and three teenage children. Claudia was perfect for our family. She gave us very useful information to explain everything that we were looking at, such as how to recognize if a ruin was a store or a private home or a bakery. But she did not talk too much which we appreciated, because sometimes private guides talk too much and give you too much information and you don't remember any of it. After our tour was finished, she told us of some additional things that we could look at so we stayed a little longer to explore and I was so happy because my teenage children remembered the things that Claudia explained to them and they were able to figure out if a ruin was a home or a store. We all enjoyed pompeii very much thanks to claudia.

We had an unforgettable trip to Pompeii and our tour guide Silvia was amazing. She was so knowledgeable, spoke English perfectly, was so pleasant and friendly. We learned so much!!!! …………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Alona is an amazing guide! We spent yesterday morning touring Pompei with Alona. Her knowledge and passion about Pompei was educational and inspiring. She did everything she could to make sure we had the best experience. My wife was in a wheelchair and she made sure her experience was as fantastic as everyone’s. While sharing her incredible knowledge with us, she also directed crowds (I.e. cruise ship tour groups) out of the way so my wife had access to everything. Ask for Alona when you book!
