Der größte globale militärische Konflikt begann hier am 1. September 1939 mit den ersten Schüssen auf der Halbinsel Westerplatte und vor der polnischen Post. Der Krieg endete für die Stadt im März 1945, als sie von den Soldaten der Roten Armee fast vollständig zerstört wurde. Die physische Ausrottung der polnischen und jüdischen Bevölkerung begann am 1. September 1939. Ihre Spuren sind die Massengräber in den umliegenden Wäldern und das erste Konzentrationslager der Nazis in Stutthof.

1 Stunde Transfer mit dem privaten Kleinbus/Minibus nach Stutthof und 90 Minuten Führung durch Englisch sprechenden Fortgeschrittener im KZ-Museum Stutthof. Der Fortgeschrittener wird während der Überführung ins Museum die komplizierten Beziehungen zwischen der Republik Polen, Nazideutschland und der Freien Stadt Danzig während der Zwischenkriegszeit beschreiben.
Lassen Sie uns die Ostsee sehen und etwas zu Mittag essen. Rückkehr nach Danzig mit dem privaten Kleinbus.
Besichtigung der Halbinsel Westerplatte - dem Ort, an dem der 2. Weltkrieg begann. Von 1926 bis 1939 befand sich hier ein polnisches Militärtransitdepot (WST), das auf dem Gebiet der Freien Stadt Danzig sanktioniert wurde. Am 1. September 1939 eröffnete das Schlachtschiff Schleswig-Holstein ohne Vorwarnung das Feuer auf die polnische Garnison. Sieben Tage später entschloss sich Major Henryk Sucharski aus Mangel an Munition und Vorräten zur Kapitulation.
Die Verteidigung der polnischen Post in Danzig war eine der ersten Aktionen des Zweiten Weltkriegs in Europa im Rahmen der Invasion in Polen. Wir werden einen Blick auf das historische Gebäude und die Verteidiger des polnischen Postmonuments werfen.

Maciej was a pleasure to listen to as our tour guide! He had such excellent knowledge of his subject and provided interesting detail about the sites we visited. We had stops at the old Synagogue, Shakespeare Theatre, Polish Post Office, Victoria School, Kinder Transport Memorial, Stutthoff, Stegna and Westerplatte, so it way a full day. May 2022 we had an excellent tour around the polish post office, Stutthof and westerplatte. Maciej had great knowledge about the WW2 but also the Polish- and political history but also culture. He is very passionated and dedicated in sharing his knowledge and even though it is a horrible and sad past, it really makes you reflect; the point is for us to learn about global altruism and not let the history repeat itself. During the day we also had lunch with sea view and sun, where we got a traditional polish soup. We enjoyed the whole day with a great spirit.
