Reiseverlauf

We had two tour guides for our private family tour. The highschool tour guide was excellent and jovial with lots of laughter. The university guide was very serious and caused us to feel rushed. We would rank the university guide as poor, but the highschool guide as excellent! Overall it averaged as very good. Had it been just the university guide, I would not have been able to recommend the tour.
Excellent tour guide Henry who swiftly and informatively showed me Hanoi’s Old French quarter, the famous heritage house, and took me to boutique cafe that served the marvellous Vietnamese specialty of egg coffee. This was pretty much free as these two-hour tours are designed as language training opportunities to give the guides experience of trying out their English skills - Henry’s were very good. But do beware the tour organisation’s invitations to join any extra ‘cultural’ activities elsewhere in Hanoi afterwards: you could end up helping in a two-hour interactive class for Vietnamese children learning English. Fun but not for everyone!
very good trip , I will highly recommend to my friend.
The tour started very punctual and the guide Alice was very kind and with a lot of interesting information for us. Well balanced the stops and the Egg coffee time, since the weather was very hot and a pause was more than welcome . The visit at the prison also very interesting. To be done!
It was absolutely fantastic! The guide picked me up right from my hotel and took me around on a motorbike, which was such a fun experience. They customized everything and took me exactly where I wanted to go. The absolute highlight was a hidden coffee shop with a secret entrance that a regular tourist would never find on their own. All the food we had was incredible. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting!
Young man Hung was the perfect guide. He showed us all the sights, was very social and did everything to make sure we had a great and unforgettable experience.
This is an interesting project which links you with volunteer student guides for a low initial cost. Entry fees and other costs are extra but tours are flexible to match your preferences. We were staying near Ho Hoan Kiem lake so the guide took us to the temple on the lake, then a nearby pagoda and the Hoa Lo Prison. We finished with coffee on Train Street. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable offering interesting historical and cultural insights. Much more personal than the usual guided tour as its just your own group/family and the guide and we shared personal stories and experiences.
We would highly recommend this walking tour of Hanoi. We had a fantastic 1/2 day with Ha and Huong who spoke very good English. They were extremely enthusiastic to show us around the city and explain the history and culture and recommend other places to visit whilst in Hanoi. We enjoyed a coffee at the train street and a very good traditional Vietnamese lunch. It was a fantastic experience to see the city from some very proud locals. Thank you to Ha and Huong. 😊
It was a great experience with our two guides Alice and Tunglam. They were attentive and really showed us a lot and brought the city closer to us.

Me and my wife had an amazing experience during the walking tour. We decided to have the tour as soon as we arrive in the city; to get a hang of important places around and to understand the inside stories and cultural insights about the place. And the tour was all those things and much more. Our guide, Harley reached out a day earlier to ensure our whereabouts. On the tour day, we were a bit late as our flight got delayed but she and her colleague Nhi were so sweet to accommodate. They were quite knowledgeable, friendly and we had an amazing 4 hour tour walking around the Hoan Kiem lake, famous eateries, pagodas and Prison museum. This Tour guide project is a very nice program where young students participate as guides; simultaneously building their communication and interpersonal skills. I will recommend all tourists who look to travel instead of simply touring and who want to understand Hanoi; to go for this amazing tour. Harley and Nhi were awesome.
