We had read excellent reviews online about Istranka Tours in Koper, Slovenia, and booked them for a shore excursion there. Their kiosk was located just outside the gate of port security and was very easy to find, as they had sent a photo of their operation. We were the first people off the ship and joined Ivan for a wonderful day of touring Slovenia. We went to Lake Bled, which was just beautiful, drove by Tito's Villa (couldn't go inside) and also stopped at a bee "farm" for a tour explaining beehive production, where we saw thousands of bees making honey, and heard about their lives in the hives. We continued on to Postojna Cave for lunch and an interesting tour. All of this was made possible by Ivan who used his knowledge to quickly find a boat at Lake Bled, arrange the beehive tour, and arrange timed tickets with audioguide at the cave. He knew where to stand to get the best seats on the tram etc. It was a wonderful day because he was so knowledgeable and organized.I would book again with Istranka because they are so professional. Just a wonderful day!

We did the tour to Postojna Cave, Lake Bled ( drive around and coffee stop) and Ljubijana walking tour with a small group from our cruise ship. Communication with Ivan was great in the planning stages. Goran, our guide was very pleasant and a very safe driver which made us feel at ease. He had good knowledge but perhaps needed to share a little more with us at times. It is always difficult to drive and guide at the same time and to be heard by all the group, so perhaps a microphone in the car/van would assist with this aspect.The cave was the highlight to me although lake Bled was also lovely to see. Under darkness it was difficult to get the full impact of the old city but there was no way around this with the length of the tour we chose and the shortening days. I enjoyed the tour and would recommend this company to others. Thank you Ivan, Goran and Istranka.
