Private Tour zu Gizeh Pyramiden & Gem vom Hafen Alexandria

The private tour promised to be amazing, however it wasn’t the case. We waited outside the cruise port at 08:00 as booked and waited while looking out for our driver while being harassed by about 10000 other taxi drivers in the area. Messaged the agent 2x and it took 30mins to get a response. They said driver was delayed and would be there for 09:00. He finally arrived at 11:15. There was allegedly fog on the road and it delayed him , however my argument was if they were due to pick us up at 08:00 they should have been on the road from 05:30 if coming from Giza/cairo. They clearly set off late. Once the driver arrived, we were bundled into a minibus with 5 other guests (all of whom had booked a private tour) and drove the 2.5hrs to Giza. Upon arrival to the Pyramids we were given some water/juice and a snack cereal bar which was nice. We were then split into 2 groups and assigned our guide. Salma was a good guide and knowledgeable and good company for the tour. We had a mild panic as without explaination she took the hand of our 9yr old son and rushed him off through the crowds, out of our sight. Turns out that children must go through a different gate. It would be sensible to explain this as in what is a chaotic and crazy area, we were already on high alert in case someone were to snatch him and disappear! We finished the pyramids and were then supposed to visit the GEM Museum, however were told it was closed and we could not but they would give us a river cruise instead. Something we were not interested in doing and asked for the ticket price to be returned but were rejected. In fact a lady sharing our trip was forced to pay the guide for her Pyramid entry ticket despite it being included, and our guide actually turned nasty when she was questioned on this. It was very embarassing. On our way back to Alexandria we were taken to a papyrus museum, and then to a restaurant where the gave us the complimentary meal, grilled chicken, rice and hummus. It was nice but by this point was 4:30pm and 10hrs since breakfast so we would have eaten anything! Had the excursion actually started at 08:00 as booked, the food would have been at a much more regular time of around midday. After we had eaten we re boarded the minibus and continued back to the ship. Our driver got lost, going to the wrong port terminal and instead of a 6mins diversion, took a 40mins trip through backstreets and alleys meaning we missed dinner on board. We lost hours of the day through delays and their late arrival, plus didn’t get to goto the GEM Museum, despite paying for the ticket in the cost of the tour. I asked viator/the agent for 50% refund as we only got 50% of what we purchased and felt that this was fair, but were immediately rejected. In summary the transport was adequate and the pyramid tour great, however the delays, poor communication and disappointing options in lieu of the GEM museum, i cannot recommend this tour. Had they arrived on time, and given us the option to visit the egyptian museum in cairo it would have been a similar experience to that we paid for (including 3x museum entry tickets) however the actual experience was half as good as expected and included only half the tour.

Absolutely Amazing Tour! Very professional to work with and organise! Picked us up from the Cruise Terminal right on time and drove us down in style. We had to come back early and they fit right within our time constraints. Our guide Summer was amazing! Very charismatic, savvy with locals even acting as our bodyguard! Excellent photographer too! Very knowledgeable expert in Egypt, its sites and history and ofc papyrus! Totally worth the price! The local food at the end was the icing on the cake too and included in the cost. Will go straight to them if I ever return to Egypt.

On time pickup . Had to meet outside gate 10 which is about 1/3 mile. Nice tour with Nasser a great driver and tour guide AMR was excellent.

We booked this tour after an exhaustive search as we did not want to book a ship excursion. I contacted Nefert Tours by email before booking and Mohamed answered me promptly and gave me all the details I needed. This and the fact that the price was good for what was offered made us decide to go ahead with the booking. We were picked up by our driver Romeo in a comfortable and spacious suv. He was friendly and efficient and bought water, juice and chocolate for us and then we drove 2.5 hours to Cairo. We then met Mohamed who welcomed us with coffee and let us know what the tour would look like. We then drove to meet our guide Mahmoud who would be with us for the 2 days of touring. Mahmoud spoke perfect English was very knowledgeable and friendly and we never felt like we were being pushed to do anything we didn’t want. We had a perfect visit to the Giza Pyramids. Mahmoud explained everything in great detail and took really fun pictures of us. We then had a very tasty lunch (included) and tried local foods. Afterwards we went to visit the oldest pyramid in Egypt, Saqqara and had a very interesting tour of this complex also. We were then taken to our hotel for the night (included) which was a very nice small family style hotel with the most incredible view of the pyramids. Our guide was very helpful and asked us if we wanted to do anything at night like a Nile cruise dinner or the pyramid night light show which we declined. We had a good sleep and a nice breakfast of local specialties the next morning. Romeo picked us up in the morning and then picked up Mahmoud again and we went to the Great Egyptian Museum. Mahmoud took us around for a while explaining various statues and artifacts and then gave us time on our own to explore at our own pace without rushing us. Our tour ended with another delicious included lunch and our drive back to the Alexandria port with our driver Romeo. All in all a very pleasant experience that I would recommend to any cruise passengers with an overnight stop in Alexandria.

I had an incredible experience on the Giza tour. Seeing the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx up close was breathtaking, and the guide shared fascinating history that brought the ancient world to life. The camel ride near the pyramids added a fun touch, and everything was well organized. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Cairo!
