Ihr erfahrener Ägyptologe beginnt Ihre Erkundung des Westjordanlandes von Luxor, indem er Sie in einem klimatisierten Fahrzeug von Ihrem Hotel oder Ihrer Nilkreuzfahrt abholt. Ihr erstes Ziel ist das berühmte Tal der Könige, ein Ort von großer historischer Bedeutung. Im Tal finden Sie insgesamt 63 Gräber, von denen jedes eine einzigartige Geschichte der antiken Vergangenheit Ägyptens erzählt. Die Königsgräber in dieser Gegend sind mit aufwendigen Darstellungen der ägyptischen Mythologie geschmückt und bieten wertvolle Einblicke in den Glauben dieser Zeit.
Als nächstes setzen Sie Ihre Reise zum prächtigen Tempel der Königin Hatschepsut fort, auch bekannt als Deir el-Bahari. Königin Hatschepsut, deren Name übersetzt „Erste der edlen Damen“ bedeutet, soll eine entscheidende Rolle bei der Einrichtung der ersten Handelsrouten in Ägypten gespielt haben. Die beeindruckende Architektur und historische Bedeutung des Tempels machen ihn zu einem Muss.
Anschließend führt Sie Ihre Tour zu den Memnonkolosse, zwei kolossalen Statuen aus Quarzitsandstein. Es wird angenommen, dass diese Statuen einst den Eingang zum Amenophis-Gedächtnistempel bewachten. Die Memnonkolosse bieten eine fantastische Kulisse zum Fotografieren und Sie haben hier die Möglichkeit, unvergessliche Momente festzuhalten.

Das Grab von Tutanchamun (KV62) wurde 1922 vom britischen Archäologen Howard Carter im Tal der Könige in der Nähe von Luxor in Ägypten entdeckt. Dies war ein bedeutender archäologischer Fund, da Tutanchamuns Grab eines der wenigen weitgehend intakten Königsgräber des alten Ägypten war. Tutanchamun war ein Pharao der 18. Dynastie, der von etwa 1332 bis 1323 v. Chr. regierte. Er bestieg den Thron als Kind und seine Herrschaft war relativ kurz, nur etwa 9 Jahre. Das Grab enthielt über 5.000 Artefakte, darunter Tutanchamuns Sarkophag und Särge, Grabbeigaben, Streitwagen, Kleidung, Schmuck und zahlreiche andere Schätze. Viele dieser Artefakte befinden sich heute im Ägyptischen Museum in Kairo und sind große Besucherattraktionen. Das Grab war im Vergleich zu anderen Königsgräbern, die im Laufe der Jahrhunderte geplündert wurden, bemerkenswert gut erhalten. Dadurch konnten Archäologen beispiellose Einblicke in die Bestattungspraktiken des alten Ägypten und die materielle Kultur des Neuen Reiches gewinnen.

Nasser was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about Egypt and its history. This was our first private tour and he put us at ease and looked after us well. He even accommodated a very short notice change of pick up location after we discovered our river cruise boat had docked somewhere other than expected. Ahmed is a good guide who knows his subject. He is patient and helpful and kindly took pictures of us at the different places of the visit. There was also a visit to a shop for a demonstration of stonemasons and we do not push you to buy.
