Eingebettet in die Hufeisenkurve der Moldau wird die malerische Stadt von der majestätischen Burg Krumlov bewacht, der zweitgrößten Burg in Tschechien, dem Juwel mittelalterlicher Architektur, unberührt vom Ansturm der Neuzeit. Nach einer 2,5-stündigen Fahrt von Prag aus treffen wir den Fortgeschrittener und zeigen Ihnen das Beste dieser mittelalterlichen Stadt bei einem privaten Spaziergang mit mehreren Fotostopps. Anschließend eine öffentliche Schlossführung (im Winter sind die Innenräume geschlossen, stattdessen bringen wir Sie zum Schlossmuseum und zur Spitze des Schlossturms).

Schloss Český Krumlov ist wie ein Märchen! Es ist das zweitgrößte Schloss in der Tschechischen Republik, der Schriftsteller Karel Čapek sagte, dass sein Turm der prächtigste aller Türme ist. Im Inneren können Sie das älteste funktionierende Barocktheater der Welt, eine vergoldete Kutsche oder einen atemberaubenden Ballsaal sehen. Montags und im Winter sind die Schlossinnenräume geschlossen, stattdessen besuchen wir das Schlossmuseum (die Schlosshöfe sind jederzeit zugänglich).
Das Gegenstück zum Schloss ist die Kirche St. Vitus. Erbaut im Jahre 1309 (seitdem mehrmals umgebaut) diente es auch als Begräbnisstätte der Herren von Krumauer.
Ursprünglich 2 getrennte Städte aus dem 13. Jahrhundert, Latran unterhalb der Burg und Krumlov auf der inneren Seite des Flusses, wurden zu einer einzigen zusammengelegt. Die Altstadt hat ihren historischen Charakter bewahrt, Sie werden den schönen Altstädter Ring mit seinen schönen Bürgerhäusern und der Pestsäule sehen, die Brücke überqueren und sich in den gepflasterten Straßen mit mittelalterlichen malerischen Häusern verirren.

This is a perfect day trip from Prague. The drive takes about two hours but the city is worth the visit. The city has a castle and an English speaking tour of this is included and provides a lot of insight into what living in a place like this might have been like. The town has amazing architecture and lots of shops for antiques and souvenirs. The views of the town and river are a spectacular vision of the medieval past. The tour allows for time to have lunch and the guide recommended an outstanding restaurant by the river, although there are many to choose from. A great wussy to get out of the Prague crowds, see the country and learn a lot about the history of Bohemia.

We had a very nice trip through the rolling southern countryside to see the beautiful castle and town of Cesky Krumlov! It needs to be on the can't miss list for visits to the Czech Republic! The town is beautiful and we had a fantastic lunch at Papa's restaurant on the terraza. Communication with Continental has been excellent on two trips, our driver was phenomenal and took us on a side trip to show us the town square at Cesky Budejovice as well! Our guide at Cesky Krumlov was informative as well.

Lovely old architecture and quaint little lanes to explore. Brilliant views from the castle over the snow capped houses in the old town and river. Very easy to walk around on your own, everyone was friendly and helpful. It was a most enjoyable two day stay, would highly recommend a visit.
If you’re only in town for a single day the best way to see this magnificent classic Gothic old world city is to take a walking tour. There a many tour organizations in town but do take a tour of this great city. Be sure to allow yourself at least four hours bring good walking shoes and an excellent camera. You’ll be amazed at the sights particularly of the city itself from the High Point of vantage. It’s magnificent. Enjoy.
<p>The transportation was on time and car very nice. The driver Peter spoke good English and provided water and snacks for us. We wanted to stay and extra 30 min in the town and he accommodated very nicely. There is a separate guide once you get into town. They both collaborated well together. The local guide was very knowledgable and gave us good tid bits of history that we wouldn't have gotten in a tour book. The day was amazing!!! They both made the trip very special!! It was well worth the time to see this town!!</p>
