Der Palast ist ein dreistöckiges Steingebäude mit Marmorkuppeln und einem 145 Fuß hohen fünfstöckigen Turm. Die Führung führt Sie durch den öffentlichen Saal, den privaten Saal, den Puppenpavillon und den königlichen Hochzeitssaal.
Wir erreichen die historische Stadt Sri Rangapatnam, die im 18. Jahrhundert die Hauptstadt von Tipu Sultan, dem Tiger von Mysore, war. Wir werden sein Leben von dem Tag an verfolgen, an dem er gegen einen Tiger kämpfte und ihn mit einem Dolch tötete, über seine mutigen Kämpfe mit den Briten, seine Verwaltungs- und Wirtschaftsreformen bis hin zu seinem bahnbrechenden Einsatz von Raketen in der Kriegsführung. Er gilt als Pionier im Einsatz von Raketen in der Kriegsführung und die Briten improvisierten später im Ersten Weltkrieg auf seiner Technologie. Wir besuchen Dariya Daulat Bagh, den Sommerpalast von Tipu Sultan. Er ist im indo-sarzenischen Stil erbaut und verfügt über einige prächtige Wandgemälde, die den Krieg von Tipu mit den Briten darstellen. Das berühmteste Ausstellungsstück hier ist das berühmte Gemälde „Storming of Srirangapatna“ von Sir Robert Ker Porter. Das Thema des Gemäldes ist der endgültige Fall von Srirangapatna am 4. Mai 1799, als die Briten Tipus Streitkräfte besiegen.
Colonel Bailey Dungeon ist das berühmte Verlies, in dem Tipu während des Krieges mehrere britische Offiziere gefangen hielt. Geschichten über diesen berüchtigten Ort werden während der Tour erzählt!
Wir besuchen Indiens erstes Sandskulpturenmuseum. Der Bau des Sandmuseums, das von Gowri, einem führenden Sandskulpturenkünstler, konzipiert und gebaut wurde, dauerte 4 Monate und erforderte 115 Ladungen Bausand. Es werden 16 Themenbereiche mit 150 ausgestellten Skulpturen behandelt.
Wir besuchen die St. Philomena-Kirche. Sie wurde 1840 erbaut und hieß früher St. Joseph Chavez, was später zu ihrem heutigen Namen geändert wurde. Ursprünglich war sie eine kleine Kirche und erhielt ihre heutige Form 1933 während der Herrschaft von Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV. 1843 baute Mysore-König Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar die Kirche, um den Bedürfnissen der europäischen Bevölkerung gerecht zu werden, die damals in Mysore lebte. Heute ist sie die zweitgrößte Kirche in Asien.
Als nächstes besuchen wir auf unserer Tour nach Mysore den Devraja-Markt, den charmanten alten Basar von Mysore. Er ist ein Genuss für alle Sinne mit Blumen, Gemüse, Obst, Palmzucker, Zwiebeln und Kartoffeln, Puffreis und Kokosnüssen!

What a fabulous experience. Shiva was very professional, hugely knowledgeable and very personable in the way he relayed information to me. Having someone like Shive present the Somnathapor temple to me made the experience all the richer because: 1. I could appreciate the age of the structure; 2. The ingenuity of the people who designed the structure; 3. The material from which the structure was created; 3. The creativity of those that decorated the structure ; 4. The educational material available on the temple outer walls. 5. The Hindu history carved on the walls also. A hugely beneficial experience going with such a terrific guide. I also appreciated the opportunity to ask many questions about Indian life from which I gained terrific insights from Shivas responses. Shive was also flexible with the itinerary to take me to a village and describe some of the ways of life, housing construction methods and infrastructure. Full day tour with Chethan as our guide. Very knowledgeable, went at our pace. Nothing was too much trouble. Made sure we were happy and seeng the things we were interested in . The driver was prompt and careful. Would not hesitate to recommend them.
The tour was fantastic! The historic temples were incredible to see and I learnt so much about each one. The carvings were stunning and very impressive. My guide, Manjunath, was wonderful and shared all of the important spots, as well as stopping for refreshments throughout the day. Traditional lunch was a highlight, very delicious! I also shared that I am very interested in how sugar is made and really appreciated how he also pointed out the sugar cane fields and took me to have a look at one. It was very special and custom. 🙏 A fantastic experience and we saw lots of beautiful places on the way!

We had a wonderful day with Shiva seeing the best sights of Mysore! The Tipu Sultan Summer Palace is really worth the visit - it is exquisite inside and so well preserved. Mysore Palace did not disappoint - it is truly stunning. Our South Indian lunch was delicious! And a great tour around the market which is so amazing to wonder around - the sights, the smells, the colors - all so incredible to take in. You will see so much on this tour! Shiva is super knowledgeable about all things Mysuru and we felt like we were getting the expert’s guide tour! A really great day that we both really enjoyed.

Our guide Shiva is knowledgeable and I would highly recommend getting him as your guide. However I was disappointed with 5sensestour actual iteanrry was different from emailed confirmation iteanrry. I think I did not get value for my money for a private tour
We saw the Somnathpur temple, Mysore palace, Devraj market, and Philomena church. Our tour guide Shiva was very knowledgeable and explained stories from the Ramayana, Gita, and Mahabharata with us while at the temple and of the history of the Mysore palace. We also had a great lunch while on the tour where we ate traditional South Indian food off a banana leaf. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Mysore.
