Besuchen Sie nur zu zweit auf Ihrer eigenen privaten Tour in einem offenen Cabrio die schöne mittelalterliche Stadt Obidos. Sie haben die Möglichkeit, die engen Gassen zu erkunden und in den Geschäften zu stöbern. Sie können an den Mauern spazieren gehen und dabei einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die umliegende Landschaft genießen und Ihren Besuch mit einem traditionellen Ginjinha de Óbidos (Sauerkirschschnaps) beenden, der an verschiedenen Orten genossen werden kann, vorzugsweise aus einer kleinen Schokoladentasse getrunken. Die mittelalterliche Stadt Óbidos ist eine der malerischsten und am besten erhaltenen in Portugal. Innerhalb der Mauern finden Sie eine gut erhaltene Burg und ein Labyrinth aus Straßen und weißen Häusern, in denen Sie wunderbar spazieren gehen können. Die Hauptkirche Santa Maria, die Kirche Misericórdia, die Kirche São Pedro, der Pranger und hinter den Mauern das Aquädukt und das runde Heiligtum Senhor Jesus da Pedra sind nur einige der Sehenswürdigkeiten, die Sie besuchen können. Die lokale Küche bietet Bouillabaisse mit Fisch aus der Lagune von Óbidos, die noch besser schmeckt, wenn sie von den Weinen der Region Oeste begleitet wird. Auf der anderen Seite das offene Meer, rau, aber ohne nennenswerte Unterströmungen, die hervorragende Surfbedingungen schaffen, mit einer Blauen Flagge der EU, die die Qualität des Wassers vor diesem Strand bezeugt.
Die schiere Pracht der monumentalen architektonischen Gestaltung des Palastes, des Klosters und der Basilika von Mafra zeugt von der Opulenz des Hofes von König João V. Der Palast, die Sommerresidenz der königlichen Familie, umfasst verschiedene Sammlungen mit Werken von hauptsächlich portugiesischen, italienischen und französischen Künstlern, die im Auftrag des Königs arbeiten, darunter Barockmalerei und -skulptur, religiöse Gewänder und Ornamente sowie Wandmalereien führender portugiesischer Künstler Die Basilika beherbergt sechs Orgeln, die weltweit einzigartig sind, und zwei Carillons mit insgesamt 114 Glocken – 57 in jedem Turm. We had such a great experience last year with Lain, that we returned again this year! Best way to start our vacation - pick up day one with Lain for a tour. We enjoyed Obidos this time around and drop off in Sintra at the end of the day. Another wonderful experience and highly recommended.

We went to Óbidos, Foz de Arelho and Buddha Eden Gardens. Iain was the perfect guide for us. Explained all about each place and answered any questions. Really lovely guy and perfect guide. Iain picked us up from our hotel at the time agreed and our adventure began. From start to finish, it was what we wanted and so much more. Had a coffee stop in Óbidos, lunch in Foz de Arelho and Iain allowed us to explore Buddha Eden Gardens together. Has given us some great ideas for future trips and I will definitely return and Iain I hope will be free on our dates to help us explore more of the beauty Portugal has to offer. Ian was a delightful and patient companion as we toured Obidos, the Silver Coast and Mafra. He allowed us to set the pace, and encouraged us to take coffee breaks, to wander in and out of shops and churches. We had a delightful lunch at a restaurant facing the lagoon and ocean on the silver coast, and he gave us plenty of time to visit the palace and basilica at Mafra. The entire day was splendid!

Went on a full day tour from Lisbon. It was an exciting trip and I would highly recommend Iain Bendrey from portugaltours4two.com. We spent a few amazing hours at the medieval town of Obidos before being driven in a convertible along the western coast stopping at Boca da Inferno, Guincho, Cabo da Roca, Praia Grande e Azenhas do Mar, Cascais and returning to Lisbon. Besides the feeling of being in a walled-up medieval town with a castle, Obidos certainly has many interesting little shops to try out their amazing Ginja de Obidos (cherry liquor) and freshly squeezed orange juice. Iain showed us many natural hidden gems along the coastal route and that made the trip all the more worthwhile. The picturesque beauty of nature along the route was breathtaking. Do capture the best of Portugal with Iain as he patiently drives you on a safe journey and takes you to the best spots to admire.
