Wir fahren nach Golconda, 11 km von der Stadt Hyderabad entfernt. Die Golconda-Festung ist wohl die größte Hügelfestung Indiens. Erbaut im Jahre 1143 als Schlammfestung, wurde es zwischen dem 14. und 17. Jahrhundert befestigt und diente als Hauptpalast der Bahmani-Sultane und der Qutb Shahi-Dynastie. Unser Guide wird die Geschichte dieses Forts lebendig machen und wie es die Zukunft von Hyderabad und seinen Menschen geprägt hat.
Qutub Shahi Gräber wurden in Erinnerung an die alten Könige von Golconda errichtet. Bogen, Säulen, Kuppelminarette und Galerien sehen exquisit aus und sind von Gärten umgeben, die Ibrahim Bagh genannt werden. Der Legende nach wurden diese Gräber während der Herrschaft der Qutub Shahi Könige verehrt und sogar Kriminelle, die hier Zuflucht suchten, wurden begnadigt.
Wir besuchen Choumahalla, den Palast der Nizams, die einst die reichsten Menschen der Welt waren. Einige der bemerkenswerten Bereiche in diesem Palast umfassen einen Wasserbrunnen, Oldtimer, komplizierte Schnitzereien, Glaskronleuchter und die große Durbar-Halle. Während der Blütezeit der Nizams bemannten bis zu 7000 Diener diesen Palast! Unser Guide gibt Ihnen einen Einblick in das persönliche und politische Leben der Nizams von Hyderabad. Freitags besuchen wir Birla Mandir anstelle des Choumahalla-Palastes, da letzterer geschlossen ist

Our guide was the most knowledgeable guide we have ever had on a tour. He was friendly, and helpful. If I could give him six stars, I would. It was interesting to see the things on the tour. But what made it so interesting was all the information our guide gave us. We feel like we really got a feel for the history of Hyderabad for the last 500 years. Excellent!
My mom aunt and partner thoroughly enjoyed our day discovering Hyderabad with Jolly John! He gave us an authentic experience only a local could.

Great way to see Hyderabad on a restricted timescale. Wonderful sights, but felt slightly hurried at times. Guide could have had better English, but was a good standard and informative. He and driver were very considerate and went out of their way to be helpful, showing us additional sites and photo opportunities. Felt very safe with them. Picked up promptly at my Hotel by Azam, my tour guide, and our driver. Azam skilfully organised the itinerary so that we missed the crowds and made the most of the good weather ( rainy season at present) we saw all the major sights, Charminar, Hussain Sagar lake and Buddha Statue. Golconda Fort, Nizams Palace , Salar Jung Museum, Birla Mandi Temple. We stopped for lunch at 1pm, included in the price. Azam displayed good knowledge of the history of Hyderabad, and nothing was too much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend if you have limited time to see the major sites.

I was very fortunate to be able to go on this tour by Five Senses. We went to many fabulous places in an air conditioned minivan and had a wonderful authentic south Indian lunch in a nice restaurant. The whole experience lasted around 12 hours, and the guides and driver made sure we were all comfortable and having a pleasant experience. We started at the Goconda Fort and finished at the Charminar, and there was much to see in between.
