Im 1. und 2. Jahrhundert hatte es eine Bevölkerung von 250.000 und monopolisierte den Reichtum des Nahen Ostens. Wir besuchen die Marienkirche, angeblich die letzte Ruhestätte der Mutter Jesu. Wir werden den Tempel der Artemis besichtigen, der eines der sieben Weltwunder der Antike war.

Wir treffen uns am Flughafen Izmir, am Kreuzfahrthafen Kuşadası oder in den Hotels Izmir, Kusadası
Wir besuchten den Ort, an dem die Jungfrau Maria ihre letzten Jahre verbrachte und in den Himmel auffuhr. Wir tranken Weihwasser und besuchten sein kleines Haus.
Es ist der Höhepunkt von Ephesus. Alte Häuser mit eigener Zentralheizung, römischen Bädern, Latrinen und erstaunlichen Fresken, Mosaiken und Graffiti. Sehenswert.
Wir besuchen die am besten erhaltene griechisch-römische Stadt in Europa und Asien. Die Bibliothek von Celsus, der Tempel von Trajan, die Latrinen, das große Theater mit einer Kapazität von 25.000 Personen, das Tor des Herkules und vieles mehr befinden sich auf dem Gelände von Ephesus

Es war eines der sieben Weltwunder der Antike. Schade, dass es in Trümmern liegt, aber wir haben seine Stützpunkte mit seiner Geschichte und dem Panoramablick auf Selçuk besucht.

We had an incredible day visiting the ruins in Ephesus and the Virgin Mary’s house. Both sites are truly breathtaking and a treat for those who love history and landmarks of biblical significance. We also thoroughly enjoyed the context provided by our tour guide Hakan, who was highly experienced and knowledgeable and was able to communicate important facts about both sites to our family in both English and Spanish. Hakan was incredibly friendly and engaging and we highly recommend!!

We had an amazing day exploring the beautiful roman ruins of Ephesus and the house of Virgin Mary! A million thanks to our excellent tour guide Hakan, who provided commentary in both english AND spanish for our group!! Also Hakan was very comical and he was happy to answer all of our questions and teach us about Turkish culture! He picked us up right on time from the Izmir port and the car was very fancy and clean! We returned with plenty of time back to our cruise ship, after a stress-free enjoyable day! :) The ruins themselves were an impressive sight to behold! Loved every minute of this tour, so worth it if you’re in Izmir for a day!
