Die HBO-Serie Tschernobyl wurde in einem der Schlafräume in Vilnius - Fabijoniškės - gedreht. Während der Tour besuchen Sie Fabijoniskes sowie andere Drehorte und erfahren mehr über das sowjetische Leben und die Katastrophe von Tschernobyl. Die Stadt Pripyat („friedliches Atom“), die Ende der 60er Jahre für den Betrieb der Anlage gegründet wurde, wurde in wenigen Jahrzehnten als Symbol für die Freundschaft zwischen den Sowjetstaaten errichtet. Die meisten Sowjetrepubliken hatten ihre Stadtteile bis dahin gebaut. Deshalb wurde die Serie im Vilniuser Stadtteil Fabijoniskes gedreht, der als Vorbild für Pripyat diente. Eines der meistbesuchten Museen in Litauen ist ein echtes KGB-Gefängnis, dessen KGB-Zellen und Folterkammern noch intakt sind. Die ursprünglichen Möbelstücke, in denen Gefangene festgehalten wurden, wurden für die Dreharbeiten der Serie verwendet. Wir beenden unsere Tour im KGB-Gebäude, sodass Sie sie auf eigene Faust besuchen können.

Domas our guide was great, picked us up on time, nice vehicle and safe driver. He is very knowledgeable about the filming of the Chernobyl tv show, but also Lithuanian history. We learned so much. He also accompanied us for part of or visit to the Museum of Occupation and Freedom, this was such a bonus as it put many of the exhibits into perspective. A great tour and worth every penny

WOW! What an experience! My wife and I booked two private tours which included a tour to Trakai Castle and separate and apart, transportation from Vilnius, Lithuania to Riga, Latvia with stops at Hill of the Crosses and Rundale Palace. For those of you who plant to travel to the Baltics, I strongly recommend including these two UNESCO World Heritage sites. Additionally, I would strongly recommend going with Avitalis who operates FeelZCity Tours out of Vilnius.
