Private Einkaufstour durch Tanger

It was a full tour. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the ancient and current history of Morocco. It was everything we wanted and more.

I booked Ali Tangier Tours "Private Tangier Shopping Tour" because I was interested in exploring the Old Medina but needed an introduction and help with language. I was so happy that a I chose Ali's Tours. As an older woman, travelling in Morocco for the first time and by myself, I felt very safe the company of my guide, Mohammed Ali, and enjoyed a companionable day. Mohammed met me at my Riad at the time of my choice and we walked out together to where his car was parked. The morning was spent travelling out of Tangier in his very comfortable car with an overview of city history along the way and visits to sites of special interest along the coast. His commentary was knowledgeable and interesting. The visit to Hercules Cave had special interest to me as the site where quern stones were mined for centuries and I was privileged to have the son of a former miner as my personal guide for the site. In the afternoon we visited 3 reputable and well stocked rug/antique jewellery shops (my area of interest) for private showings. The choices were almost overwhelming and Mohammed's guidance was very much appreciated. I had no intention of buying a rug that first day - but I found a carpet that was just right and Mohammed assisted with achieving a fair price and shipping arrangements. The rug arrived at my address in Australia while I am still in Morocco. The day included a snack along the way at one of the coastal stop offs, and a magnificent diner at the end of the day in a very attractive restaurant. It was a tiring but memorable day.

We spend a wonderful time in Morocco and on the last day we decided to buy souvenirs. Just by the coinsidence we met Ali who is the son of the owner of the restaurant where we had lunch, so he offered us to show us the best quality shops. As we had a great lunch and time we accepted the offer and we made a great choice. Ali helped us to buy 2 beautiful rugs, traditional djellaba, tea pots with cups and other small things. Thanks for great fun and hospitality.

We were very happy to do the tour with local guide as we both got great deals and learned about old city's history and culture. We were excited to learn how the carpets are made in Atlas Mountains and we saw how the argan oil is produced and tried real Moroccan mint tea. Very helpful tour if you want to save time and money while in the old city and around markets. Perfect, thank you.
