Der Taj Mahal ist ein elfenbeinweißes Marmormausoleum am Südufer des Flusses Yamuna in der indischen Stadt Agra. Es wurde 1632 vom Mogul-Kaiser Shah Jahan (Regierungszeit 1628 bis 1658) beauftragt und ist das Grab seiner Lieblingsfrau Mumtaz Mahal. Der Bau des Mausoleums wurde im Wesentlichen 1643 abgeschlossen, aber die Arbeit an anderen Projektphasen setzte sich noch weitere 10 Jahre fort. Das Taj Mahal wurde 1983 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe ernannt und ist das Juwel der muslimischen Kunst in Indien.
Agra Fort ist ein historisches Fort in der Stadt Agra in Indien. Es war die Hauptresidenz der Kaiser der Mogul-Dynastie bis 1638, als die Hauptstadt von Agra nach Delhi verlegt wurde. 1983 wurde das Agra Fort als UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe eingetragen. Das Fort kann genauer als eine von einer Stadtmauer umsäumte Stadt beschrieben werden. Es ist die die einzige Festung in Indien, in der alle frühen Mughal-Kaiser lebten. Das Fort befindet sich auf einer antiken Stätte und wurde traditionell als Badalkarh bezeichnet.

We had an amazing experience at both Taj Mahal and Agra Fort with our knowledgeable guide Vikram and driver Ajit. The 3.5 hour ride between Agra and New Delhi was smooth c/o our driver Ajit. Vikram speaks English excellently. His vivid and engaging storytelling made us highly appreciate the historical context and craftsmanship of these landmarks. Our memories are also beautifully encapsulated in the excellent pictures and videos he took.
This tour exceeded my expectations. The places we went to were amazing. The staff as well were so warm, welcoming and professional. The driver Ajit and guide Vikram made the trip all the better. Ajit made the ride super comfortable and safe. While Vikram is the best guide I’ve come across. Both of them are trustworthy, charismatic, kind and fun to talk to. Would definitely come back to India and book them from the same company again.
Our guide, Vikram, was 5-stars great. All the facts explained made us truly appreciate the Taj’s majesty and history. He also took us to other interesting places in Agra - embroidery, jewelry and marble-making. It was definitely a great first trip to India!
Great day in Agra. The communication was very helpful. It was no problem for the organisation that we requested to change the pick up time to 5 AM and add 2 more people to our group, with only one day notice. Shuba and the driver were very kind. The drive was a breeze. Shuba was very knowledgeable and managed to answer all our questions. The restaurant had good food as well. Would recommend! :)
Our tour guide Vikram is very good. He explained the history very well and engaging. We visited other good places like the Zardozi Embroidery Heritage Museum & Shop and the place for India Marble-making. We should have booked a longer tour! Very good first trip experience!!!

From the moment we left New Delhi until the end of the trip, I felt completely safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for every step of the way. Mahendra was an incredible driver — calm, reliable, patient, and always making sure I was comfortable throughout the journey. Navigating India as a solo female traveler can sometimes feel overwhelming, but with Mahendra, I felt fully taken care of and secure the entire time. His warm energy and thoughtful attention to detail truly stood out. Vikram was equally exceptional as a guide. He has a Master’s degree in Tourism, and it absolutely shows in the depth of knowledge and passion he brings to his work. He could answer every single question I had with insight and detail, making the history and beauty of the Taj Mahal come alive in such a meaningful way. Beyond his expertise, what made the experience even more special was that he is from the city where the Taj Mahal is located, so he had authentic local connections everywhere we went. It felt like exploring the city with someone deeply respected and genuinely connected to the community. Together, Mahendra and Vikram went far above and beyond to make the day unforgettable. Their great energy, warmth, professionalism, and genuine care turned what could have been just a sightseeing trip into something deeply touching, memorable, informative, and special. I left not only with beautiful photos and memories, but with a real appreciation for the culture, history, and people behind the experience.
