Das Red Lion Pub im Steinkreis von Avebury ist angeblich eines der Pubs in England, in denen es am meisten spukt. Es stammt aus dem 16. Jahrhundert und hat im Barbereich einen Brunnen.
Avebury ist der größte megalithische Steinkreis der Welt und über 4.500 Jahre alt. Er wurde wahrscheinlich für Rituale, astronomische Beobachtungen und gemeinschaftliche Zusammenkünfte genutzt. Im nahegelegenen Red Lion Pub soll es spuken. Wir werden in Avebury zu Mittag essen. Sie können entweder im Pub essen oder selbst picknicken.
Silbury Hill ist der größte prähistorische, von Menschenhand geschaffene Hügel in Europa. Sein Zweck bleibt ein Rätsel, aber einige Theorien legen nahe, dass er eine symbolische „schwangere“ Erdgöttin war.
Die Ausrichtung des Grabhügels auf den Sonnenaufgang an bestimmten Tagen lässt darauf schließen, dass er für Rituale verwendet wurde, die den Lauf der Zeit und die Jahreszeiten markierten. Wir besuchen auch die geheime Quelle in der Nähe.

Arjun was a truly knowledgeable and interesting guide. Pu and drop off at our hotel in Bath made it super easy for 3 senior ladies. The day was filled with learning, beautiful drives and views and laughter. A great pub lunch stop and I can’t think of anything that could be done to improve the experience. Highly recommend.

This was the best tour I've been on yet. I came to England with specific sites I needed to visit and Arjun delivered on all of them. He was very accommodating, informative with such interesting history/knowledge, kept excellent pace and listened to the things that were important to me.
