Treffen Sie sich um 10:30 Uhr mit dem Reiseleiter und besuchen Sie die der Heiligen Klara geweihte Basilika. Die Basilika (auf Italienisch „Basilica di Santa Chiara“) ist eine Kirche, die der Heiligen Klara von Assisi geweiht ist und deren sterbliche Überreste beherbergt. Sie war eine Anhängerin des Heiligen Franz von Assisi und Gründerin des Ordens der Armen Damen, der heute als Orden der Heiligen Klara bekannt ist.
Chiesa Nuova. Die Chiesa Nuova ist eine Kirche in Assisi, Italien, die 1615 an der Stelle des vermuteten Geburtshauses des Heiligen Franziskus, dem Haus von Pietro di Bernardone, erbaut wurde. Sie wurde damals „Chiesa Nuova“ genannt, da sie zu jener Zeit die letzte Kirche war, die in Assisi erbaut wurde.
Der Minerva-Tempel ist ein antikes römisches Bauwerk in Assisi in Umbrien, Mittelitalien. Heute beherbergt es die Kirche Santa Maria sopra Minerva, die 1539 erbaut und im 17. Jahrhundert im Barockstil renoviert wurde.
Die Basilika des Heiligen Franziskus, die zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gehört, wurde unter der Leitung von Bruder Elias, Generalvikar und Architekt des Ordens, ab 1228 – nur zwei Jahre nach dem Tod des Heiligen – als Ort erbaut, an dem seine sterblichen Überreste beigesetzt werden sollten.
Während die feierliche und dunkle Unterkirche zu Buße und Stille einlädt, ragt die Oberkirche luftig und hell in den Himmel. Das Kirchenschiff im gotischen Stil mit französischen Einflüssen weist vier Joche, ein Kreuzgewölbe sowie ein polygonales Querschiff und eine Apsis auf.

- An Sonntagen, großen katholischen Feiertagen und nationalen Feiertagen sind Führungen durch die Basilika des Heiligen Franziskus nicht gestattet. Ihr Reiseleiter wird Ihnen die Kirche von außen erklären, und Sie werden sie in aller Stille betreten.
- Aufgrund der Ausstellung der Reliquien des Heiligen Franziskus werden die Führungen durch die Basilika vom 15. Februar 2026 bis zum 6. April 2026 ausgesetzt. Der Führer wird von außen eine Einführung geben, danach können die Besucher auf eigene Faust hineingehen.

We had a fabulous morning in Assisi with Alessandra. She is a great story teller, very knowledgeable and great sense of humor. I really enjoyed how she explained the history of Assisi and San Francesco de Assisi with a very down to earth twist that I had not experience in tours were religion is involved. We toured the entire town and we visited several sites, including the basilica of Santa Clara, the Minerva church, piazza, nice streets and naturally the upper and lower basilica of San Francesco. It was perfectly timed for high enjoyment and learning. It gave us an interesting perspective that you could relate to today's characters and events.
Barbara was extraordinarily knowledgeable. She educated us well on Assisi’s history, the life of St. Francis, and the fine details of the artwork in the basilica and the criticality of Giotto’s innovations to future artistic developments in the Renaissance. No surprise since she was a teacher in her prior life. A great guide!!

It starts from the top of town at the church of St Clare. Very interesting. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared his personal insights. We took the quiet road behind the town to the Basilica and it was a delight.

Personalized tour of this beautiful city. Even though we were there during a holiday and tour guides were not allowed into the churches, our guide went through detailed instructions of what to look for and how to go through each church.

The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the church, the region and St. Francis. She spoke good English and was quite understandable even when speaking quietly inside the churches.. The pace was easy and covered a lot of ground.

Tour is a private tour which takes you through the history of Assisi, the Poor Claires, St. Francis and the Basilica of St. Francis. Guide was knowledgeable and quite opinionated, but treated the physical sites with dignity and respect. Tour does not include the resting place Carlo Acutis.
