Santorini ist die Heimat einiger der einzigartigsten Weine der Welt, geprägt von seinem vulkanischen Boden und alten Traditionen. Auf dieser Tour besuchen wir drei außergewöhnliche Weingüter, die jeweils eine andere Weinbaumethode und Weinherstellungsstil zeigen. Zu den Haltestellen gehören das Weingut Art Space, wo Tradition auf Kunst trifft, das renommierte Anwesen Argyros, bekannt für Weltklasse-Assyrtiko, und das atemberaubende Weingut Venetsanos, das in die Caldera-Klippen mit unvergesslicher Aussicht eingebaut wurde. Sie werden typische Weißweinsorten wie Assyrtiko, Athiri, Aidani, Rotweine wie Mavrotragano, Mandilaria und süße Weine wie Vinsanto, Nama und Mezzo probieren, die aus sonnengetrockneten Trauben hergestellt werden. Optionale Besuche des Weinguts Gavalas und des Weinmuseums Koutsogiannopoulos sind für diejenigen verfügbar, die noch mehr erkunden möchten (gegen Aufpreis).

Die Art Space Winery Musem Art Gallery ist ein einzigartiges Kunstzentrum in den in Bimsstein gehauenen Kammern eines alten Weinguts in Exo Gonia, Santorini, und dient seit 1999 bis heute als gastfreundlicher Rückzugsort für alle griechischen und ausländischen Kunsthandwerker teilen die gleiche Leidenschaft für Kreativität. Im alten Weingut von 1861 werden repräsentative Kunstwerke aus den Bereichen Malerei und Bildhauerei ausgestellt und bieten den Besuchern die Möglichkeit, zeitgenössische griechische Kunst und den künstlerischen Ausdrucksverlauf in Griechenland hautnah kennenzulernen. Darüber hinaus führt Art Space Winery regelmäßig die traditionelle Weinproduktion fort und verfügt in seinen Räumlichkeiten über ein modernes Weingut, das renommierte Produkte von hoher Qualität anbietet.
Das Weingut Estate Argyros befindet sich in Episkopi und wurde 2015 gegründet. Es ist ein hochmodernes Weingut, mit einer Fläche von mehr als 3000 m² sicherlich eines der beeindruckendsten auf der Insel. Es wurde mit größter Sorgfalt darauf geachtet, einen äußerst stilvollen und beeindruckenden Besucherbereich zu schaffen, der größte Schwerpunkt wurde jedoch auf die Produktionsanlagen gelegt, um sicherzustellen, dass jede Phase des Weinherstellungsprozesses mit maximaler Kontrolle und minimalem Eingriff durchgeführt werden kann.
Unser dritter Halt führt uns zum ikonischen Weingut Venetsanos, berühmt für seine dramatische Lage mit Blick auf die Caldera von Santorin. 1947 in die Klippen gebaut, war es das erste industrielle Weingut der Insel und bietet eine faszinierende Mischung aus Geschichte, Architektur und Wein. Hier genießen wir eine geführte Verkostung der berühmtesten Sorten Santorinis, darunter Assyrtiko und Vinsanto, während wir etwas über das einzigartige Vulkanterroir der Insel erfahren. Das Erlebnis wird durch atemberaubende Aussichten und sorgfältig ausgewählte lokale Snacks bereichert, die die Weinaromen verstärken. Panos! He was the best! My husband, brother-in-law, and I were on a trip of a lifetime. We booked Panos to be our tour guide in Santorini. Panos made our tour in Santorini just what we wanted. He took us to three different wineries, each with their own character. He also took us to the town to walk through. His personality was fun, comfortable, and friendly. We wanted to visit a few wineries we were interested in, so we asked for a custom private tour. I told them about my preferred destination, which I had researched beforehand, and they introduced me to other wineries that I had recommended, and I discovered something new. The guide man was very kind and I could feel Santorini's passion for winemaking and respect for history and tradition. On the way, we were able to communicate about wine, Santorini history, current social culture and many other things, which was a really good memory. As this was a private tour, we could request which wineries to go beforehand. Also, the driver & guide was so flexible that we could go back to one of the wineries we saw to buy extra wines. We enjoyed all our tours in Europe, but none more than this Santorini wine tour. Thanks to our guide Panos, the arrangements were easy and travel on the island was scenic and comfortable. Panos entertained us with stories about the history, growing methods, and unique local wines as we enjoyed the beauty of Santorini. He provided colorful background and told us what to look for at each winery we visited. As a lifelong resident, he knew the people, the wines, and the island and he clearly enjoyed sharing that with us. Most importantly, this tour was a highly personal experience. Thanks to Panos, we were welcomed as friends rather than strangers at each stop. He also picked us up at Athinios Port when we managed transport from our cruise ship and, at our request, stopped for a brief visit to Megalochori, a well-maintained 17th century village. We could have spent less for a wine tour in Santorini, but we decided to go for higher quality and a more intimate experience. We are so glad we did. For only a few dollars more, we enjoyed great wines and personal service from a friendly and knowledgeable host.
