We had a wonderful experience with the Private Journey to Middle-Earth Hobbiton movie set tour, and our guide Ali did a fantastic job. He was very knowledgeable and attentive, and we appreciated him sharing insight and facts about New Zealand while we travelled to The Shire. We really loved our private transportation tour with Expedigo. We were very lucky that they had tickets for Hobbiton while everyone else was sold out! Our driver, Deane, was very attentive and kept us entertained with stories and facts about New Zealand. We greatly appreciated the late departure from Auckland given that we had just arrived that morning from the states. Having a late tour of Hobbiton was magical with the late afternoon light. The Mercedes van was very comfortable and spacious and Deane provided water and snacks. Overall, we had a very nice time and highly recommend this company!

The tour was exactly as advertised—a visit to the movie set for scenes at Hobbiton. For fans, this visit makes hobbit lore real and walking on the hills of the set brings imagination to life. The drive through the countryside was beautiful. The driver/guide, Deane, was excellent. He shared lots of information about the area, the making of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies, and the film industry based on his long experience. We had an amazing day.
