The perfect way to spend your first evening in D.C. The buildings and monuments lit, wonderful driver, curbside service. It’s the best way to take it all in and orient yourself to the city.
We couldn't agree more—the city at night is absolutely magical, especially on your very first evening. Fantastic night tour of D.C.! Our driver Esrick was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We were able to take as much time as we wanted at each stop. We started the tour right before sundown so we were able to see a beautiful sunset over the memorials and monuments. Highly recommend a night tour while in D.C. - it’s a unique way to see the memorials and monuments and less crowded than during the daytime. This private tour was more personable and much more comfortable than any of the large tour buses.

Very smooth tour, flexible and a knowledgeable driver. We were able to add sites that weren’t on the standard itinerary and also adjust our pick up and drop off locations.

We ended up having to walk almost the entire time due to road closures for the Army Parade. I would have expected our tour guide to be knowledgeable about the road closures, but he didn't know anything going into our tour. It was a huge waste of our money as we could have just paid for a metro ride home rather than over $500 for basically just a ride home. We had to walk the entire National Mall to see it as every road nearby was closed.

Unfortunately, the Army Parade and related road closures were announced by the city at the very last minute, leaving little time for even local businesses to adjust. We’ve been providing tours in D.C. for over 20 years, and this was an unprecedented situation—we had never encountered such widespread and unanticipated closures before. That said, we immediately reached out via email and offered you a complimentary airport transfer or a free ride in the future that would never expire. You kindly declined, noting that you don’t live in the D.C. area. While we understand your request for a full refund, it’s important to note that when you pay $500 through TripAdvisor, our business only receives about $300—the rest goes to the platform. From that $300, we still need to cover the driver’s time, fuel, and vehicle costs. As mentioned, closures of this scale in D.C. are extremely rare. In fact, this was the city’s first Army Parade. Typically, the only comparable closures occur during Presidential Inaugurations every four years, and we always advise our clients not to book tours during those specific dates. Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and please remember—you still have a free ride with us, should you return to Washington, D.C. We’d love the chance to provide the experience you originally hoped for.
