Im Jahr 1537 wurde das alte römische Aquädukt der Stadt umgebaut, um sauberes Wasser in den Marmorbrunnen am Praça do Giraldo und in andere öffentliche Bereiche in Évora zu bringen.

We had the absolute pleasure of spending the day with Rui on a private tour of Évora and the Alentejo region, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. From the very start, Rui was warm, personable, and attentive, making us feel completely comfortable. His knowledge of Portuguese history is incredible — he didn’t just share dates and facts, he truly brought the past to life, weaving stories that made the monuments and landscapes so much more meaningful. Throughout the day, Rui went above and beyond. When our wine tasting ran longer than expected, he was patient and kind, never rushing us. He also gave us fantastic recommendations for food and experiences, both during the tour and afterward, which shows how much he genuinely cares about his guests enjoying Portugal beyond just the time spent with him. Even as we drove between sites, Rui pointed out important historical spots we otherwise would have missed, making the entire journey feel rich and special. If you want more than just a driver or a guide — if you want someone who will give you a deeper understanding of Portuguese culture, history, and hospitality — Rui is the person you should book. We booked a last minute day tour from Lisbon to Evora with RM Cesar tours. The car was very comfortable and the trip out to Evora was very smooth.
