The choice to travel between Lisbon and Porto by private transfer rather than by train or bus was the best decision we made. Sure, it costs more but you save in so many other ways. We were picked up and dropped off at our accommodation doors, able to choose some towns along the way to stop off and look around (which we were going to do as a day trip from Porto anyway) and spend the day with a true local who could not only tell us the history but have great conversation in general. The vehicle was clean, spacious and comfortable.

Truly unforgettable experience!!! Can't say enough how happy we were with Leonel Rodrigues from Desirable Portugal Tours. His vast knowledge of the history, architecture, culture was fascinating and we felt he truly wanted us to have a taste of authentic Portugal. He is a master of logistics and the ride in his electric Volkswagen Van was extremely comfortable and quiet. Leonel catered to our unique needs of our group, including ferrying a forgotten bag in Lisbon to our Porto hotel days after our tour! We want to return to Portugal just to hire Leonel again!

So glad our group of four chose Leonel and his fun and super-comfy van to travel from Lisbon to Porto. We were able to make several stops along the way (he will customize to your wishes) without having to hassle with our luggage, and we learned a lot of Portuguese history and culture too! 10/10 recommend.

Incredibly wonderful trip! My wife and I spent 2 separate days with Leonel for a private tour of Sintra as well as travel from Lisbon to Porto with a tour of Coimbra We were extremely impressed with both experiences as Leonel is very knowledgeable with the history of the area and he was able to maximize our time enjoying the experience. Sintra is not easy for tourists to navigate so I highly recommend Leonel’s skills to get around issues there. We had one of the most beautiful experiences of our 12-day trip walking specific nature garden trails of Pena Palace that Leonel knew about with breath taking views. As a history buff, I was also impressed with his deep knowledge of Portugal. Special treat, Leonel knows the best local Portuguese restaurants and pastry shops in all the cities we visited! He made our experience very pleasantly memorable and stress free. We will definitely call Leonel on our next trip to Portugal.

My group of 5 friends spent 4 days with Leonel from Lisbon to Sintra to Porto. Our days were incredible! He is so knowledgeable & knows all of the hidden gems. We saw many historical spots & learned so much from him. He took us to the quaint, off the beaten path locations & also added much humor along the way. He also picked us up in the Algarve Region today & brought us back to Lisbon. Once again, stopping to see incredible views & beaches as we went. He also was great at showing us all of the best bakeries & restaurants in each area. In Porto, we visited a family owned winery & had a great time tasting their wine. Our trip was unforgettable! Thanks to Leonel!
