Der Imjingak-Nuri-Friedenspark wurde unmittelbar nach der Erklärung der Gemeinsamen Erklärung Südkoreas im Jahr 1972 entwickelt. Dies ist ein komplexer Kulturraum, in dem 2005 das Global Peace Festival stattfand. Der 3. Tunnel wurde 1978 an einem Punkt nur 52 km (32 Meilen) von Seoul entfernt im Verwaltungsbezirk Paju entdeckt. Der Tunnel ist unterirdisch, 73 m (240 Fuß) tief und 1.635 m (1 Meile) , 2 m breit und 2 m (6,6 Fuß) hoch. Außerdem ist es so groß wie eine Armee von 30.000 vollbewaffneten nordkoreanischen Soldaten, die innerhalb einer Stunde durchqueren müssten. Es ist der größte der bisher entdeckten Tunnel. Tongilchon, auch als Vereinigungsdorf bekannt, liegt innerhalb der Grenzen der zivilen Kontrolllinie. Es wurde 1973 gegründet und umfasste zunächst 40 Haushalte von Veteranen und 40 Haushalte von Einheimischen. Inspiriert vom Kibbuz-Modell in Israel wurde das Dorf strategisch gestaltet. Während die Bewohner an normalen Tagen ihrer regulären Arbeit nachgehen, werden sie in militärischen Verfahren zur Reaktion auf Notsituationen geschult. Die Region ist bekannt für ihre lokalen Spezialitäten: Jangdan-Sojabohnen, Ginseng und Reis. Diese Produkte werden im landwirtschaftlichen Marketingzentrum am Dorfeingang ausgestellt und stehen den Besuchern zum Verkauf zur Verfügung.
Hier können Sie Mangbaedan besuchen, wohin verstreute Familienmitglieder, die in Nordkorea geboren wurden oder dort ihre Heimatstädte haben, an jedem Chuseok (koreanisches Erntedankfest) oder Neujahrstag kommen. Es gibt auch die „Freiheitsbrücke“, wo südkoreanische und UN-Kriegsgefangene am Ende des Koreakrieges repatriiert wurden. Außerdem sehen Sie eine Dampflokomotive, die durch den feindlichen Angriff während des Koreakrieges schwer beschädigt wurde, sowie Brücken und andere historische Überreste aus dieser Zeit. Anschließend essen Sie in einem Restaurant in der Nähe zu Mittag.
Der Berg Gamaksan (675 m) ist einer der fünf felsigen Berge in der Provinz Gyeonggi. Über einem tiefen Tal wurde eine Hängebrücke mit einer Länge von 150 m (0,1 Meile) und einer Höhe von 45 m (144 Fuß) gebaut, ohne dass Brückenpfeiler erforderlich waren. Durch dieses Design fügt sich die Brücke harmonisch in die umgebende Natur ein. Diese Brücke trägt auch den zusätzlichen Namen „Gloucester Heroes Bridge“, eine Hommage an die mutigen Bemühungen der Soldaten des Gloucestershire Battalion Regiment während des Koreakrieges. Alternativ haben Sie auch die Möglichkeit, anstelle der Gamaksan-Hängebrücke das Kriegsdenkmal zu besuchen, wo Sie viel mehr über den Koreakrieg erfahren können, oder andere Orte Ihrer Wahl zu besuchen.
Dies ist eine optionale Tour zur Gamaksan-Hängebrücke. Das War Memorial of Korea zeigt und bewahrt Materialien zum Koreakrieg auf und dient als nationaler Ort für moralische Bildung. Das Museum beherbergt etwa 33.000 Artefakte, von denen etwa 10.000 in Ausstellungen im Innen- und Außenbereich ausgestellt sind. Es gibt sechs separate Innenräume, darunter den Expeditionary Forces Room, den Patriotic Memorial Room, den War History Room, den 6·25 Korea War Room, die Development Hall und den Large Machinery Room.
