Reiseverlauf

My husband and I did a private tour with Max as our driver. The first thing I want to mention for people considering this tour is Max does not talk a lot. It is a long day of driving. It's over 2 hours of driving to the first stop and around 3 hours back to Venice from the last stop. If you are people that like to yap with your guide and have the day completely narrated then I suggest you ask for a different driver from the tour operator after booking. Having said that - my husband and I were totally fine not having our ears talked off for the day. We do a lot of private tours. Sometimes you just want to relax/nap if it's a long tour - lol! The van was comfortable, especially considering it was just 2 of us. Unfortunately, the van experienced some mechanical issues - a hose blew. We pulled over on the side of the road at a decent scenic spot. We could hear Max on the phone with the hood of the van up. Shockingly - he was able to fix it using the cork of the prosecco bottle that they had for us! Thankfully the ordeal only took about 30 min. I can't imagine what would have happened if Max couldn't fix it! All of the different lakes/sites were beautiful! We opted to take a chair lift up to the top of one of the mountains instead of sitting down for lunch. We were not really hungry at the time and wanted to see the views from a different perspective - we highly recommend the chair lift at Lago di Misurina! The Dolomites are not to be missed! This is the best way to tour the Dolomites from Venice for sure. It would be way too much driving for a tourist to do it in a day. It's also a great tour to do in the summer months because it is at least 10 degrees cooler than Venice!!
Dear Christa, Thank you very much for your honest and detailed feedback. We are very glad to know that you enjoyed the tour, and we are truly happy about this. We also appreciate your comment about the overall experience with the driver. Our tour is a scenic private experience with a professional driver and helpful information provided along the way. We have also recently added the option to include a local guide for guests who prefer a more narrated experience throughout the day. Regarding the stop with the vehicle, we would like to kindly clarify that the issue was related to a hose from the air-conditioning system. We truly appreciate your patience during that short stop. Thank you again for sharing your experience. We are happy that the beauty of the Dolomites made the day truly worthwhile. Warm regards, MoveNow Travel
This is a veritable bargain-priced tour given its length and breadth. It is a good way to visit the Dolomites from Venice. The tour provides a printed booklet that highlights the places to be visited, and there is an audio (pre-recorded) “guide” that reads key elements to the guests. The driver is exactly that, a driver. He is not a guide. I was disappointed to discover that the “Guided Tour” meant pre-recorded information. I discussed this with the tour operators and learned that they are focused on the value element of this tour. The phrase “guided” in the title is rather misleading. I would have chosen a different tour had I understood this. I was disappointed.
Dear Barrett, Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. We understand your message very well, and we really appreciate you sharing it with us. We always do our best to explain how the tour is organized, both after the booking and again before the tour, so every guest can feel well prepared for the day. The reason we organize the tour in this way is to keep it accessible and not make the cost too high, considering the long distance and the private, flexible experience from Venice to the Dolomites. Almost all of our guests have enjoyed the experience exactly as it is. We completely understand that some guests may prefer a different type of experience, with a local guide present throughout the day. For this reason, we have now added the option to include a local guide for the full duration of the tour in the Dolomites. This way, each guest can choose the version of the tour that best matches their preferences. Thank you again for your feedback. It was truly helpful for us, and we are glad you still recognized the value of visiting the Dolomites from Venice with us. Warm regards, MoveNow Travel
Dolomite tour was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Our Driver MAX was simply amazing. Vera was really helpful with organizing and reaching out to meet our needs. Highly recommend them. Beautiful place !!!
Dear Jessica, How beautiful it is to read your words. Messages like yours truly give us the strength and motivation to always do our best. It means so much to know that the Dolomites tour was such a special experience for you. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to create this day for you and for trusting us with your time in Italy. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts! Warm regards, MoveNow Travel
The tour was outstanding. The scenery was breathtakingly stunning. Our driver Max was a workhorse. He drove 8-9 total hours, the turns in the mountains was stressful with big buses coming at us sometimes. Vera, who coordinated the trip was a rock star. Her communications was proactive and any followup was equally super responsive. We had originally planned to go to Cortina to see the Olympic rings bit, Vera suggested that traffic would be heavy and we may miss some of the stunning views so we adjusted the itinerary and so glad we did. Highly recommend this tour to couples, families, wanting to spend a day in the Dolomites and have the agenda flexible to see the sights.
Wow… your message truly left us speechless. Thank you so much for everything you wrote. We are very, very happy to know that you enjoyed the tour so much. Messages like yours give us so much energy and motivation to keep doing our best. Honestly, we do not have enough words to thank you for such kind and generous feedback. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts! Warm regards, MoveNow Travel
Max our driver was excellent. He was always available but not intrusive. He was helpful and super professional. Vera suggested we move up a day based on the weather forecast and we’re glad we were able to make the changes in our schedule to avoid bad weather. The vehicle is a very comfortable Mercedes van, there were surprise gifts that greeted us, and everything was nicely done. We were notified ahead of time of a road closure that would prevent us from seeing one of the alpine lakes on the itinerary. Disappointing, but good to know ahead of time. We highly recommend this tour.
Thank you, William, for your kind review and recommendation. We’re so glad you enjoyed the tour. We also truly appreciate your flexibility with the date change. It was a pleasure to organize this experience for you. Thank you!
The Dolomites are spectacular! There is so much to see that it is really worth the cost for a private tour. We were able to go at our own pace. The walkers could walk around the lakes and the non-walkers could enjoy the view while waiting or driving to meet them. Even before the day of our tour, the tour operator was very responsive. We had been warned that it would be quite cold, but we didn’t need all the layers we brought.
Thank you, Betsy, for your kind review. We’re truly happy that your experience with us was enjoyable and comfortable for your group. Your words mean a lot, and we really appreciate you taking the time to share them. Thank you again for choosing MoveNow Travel!
A lovely day in the Dolomites! Each of the lakes was a winter wonderland! Max our driver was great - friendly & a skilled driver.
Thank you so much, Michael, for your kind words. It makes us truly happy to know that you had such a lovely day in the Dolomites. We’re grateful you chose to share this experience with us.
We did the private tour of Dolomites, lakes and quaint areas. It was just myself, husband and our driver. We traveled in a comfortable Mercedes van in which he had snacks and drinks loaded. Very thoughtful and kind. (We had brought a few of our own not knowing and thought this was a pleasant surprise.) This was a highlight of our 17 day trip to Italy! We were picked up first thing in the morning. Spent the day driving from lake to beautiful lake. We saw mountain peaks so majestic it took our breath away. The small quaint towns, lunch with a lake view, small walks around lakes, learning the historic importance of the area and lakes from WWI….. all of it was wonderful and so fascinating. We had audio and a small booklet of information of each place as we traveled so that was very helpful and appreciated. My husband and I travelled late in September. The weather was just right! It was cool with some breaks of sun and some clouds with small drizzle here and there. (The van also had umbrellas if we needed them. Again, so thoughtful.) I honestly and whole heartedly would recommend anyone I know to do this tour. It was so grand, so majestic and stunning to see and experience. This is an experience that will not be forgotten! Our driver was so kind and we enjoyed our talks and learning about him as well. Very engaging. All in all- a wonderful and most memorable day!
