Our day with Mike from Allied victory tours was the highlight of our week in Normandy. We selected the full-day American D-Day tour, and he was very accommodating to our request to modify it to include a visit to the German cemetery which had been recommended to us. Mike’s knowledge of the events and people involved and affected by D-Day is extraordinary, but he never overwhelms you with information. Instead, he provides an exceptional blend of the big picture events and information on various individuals and locations. The result is a very informative and meaningful day that explains the events of D-Day more clearly than most history books. We were a little concerned about whether we would find a full day tour too exhausting, but this was not a problem as Mike paces the day very well Plus, he is a very enjoyable person to spend time with. Our only regret was that we had not planned to do another tour with him.
We thoroughly enjoyed our D-Day Tour with Mike. He was flexible in meeting our requirements and put together a bespoke tour that worked out perfectly. The best thing was the insight and stories that Mike bought to the visit that we could not have had without his expertise. As well as being very knowledgeable he is charming company. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Allied Victory Tours if you are visiting Normandy.
Mike picked us up from our Chateau and we had a great day We were a mixed group of 8 and he ensured we all had a great experience. Mike clearly knew his history, was very engaging and made the day fun while remaining respectful of those who had lost their lives all those years ago. Would definitely recommend. Thanks Mike!
Absolutely fantastic trip , great knowledge, very friendly, we all had a very informative and interesting day . Would 100% recommend
Our guide, Mike, was very personable and friendly. His knowledge of the events that unfolded on DDay and beyond was impressive. I would not hesitate on booking Mike again and I am planning to come back next year.
We really enjoyed our British D-Day tour with Mike around the beaches and important sites of the British Normandy campaign. We were collected from our hotel in Bayeux and dropped back there at the end of the tour. Mike is a very knowledgable and passionate about this era and we had a great day seeing the sites and learning more about this period of history. Highly recommended.
Highly recommend this excellent and informative guide. Mike’s knowledge was absolutely superb. We had 3 days with Mike and we covered all the D-Day beaches. Each day was split into British, USA or Allied landings, and was so interesting. Mike was full of facts and knowledge, there was genuinely no question he couldn’t answer! Mike was great company, full of humour and very tolerant of our needing to stop for a regular cuppa!
Absolutely amazing tour organised by Mike. Tailored towards the British involvement, but with an overview of the whole period. My father was wounded at Hill 112 and Mike researched this area and his regiment specifically and took us to this region. Mike is knowledgable, enthusiastic and a pleasure to be with. I would highly recommend him.
A truely awesome tour. Mike is very knowledgeable and has the best informative stories and photos. He makes the tour very fun. I highly recommend him.
Mike was such a great guide. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgable throughout the whole tour and kept us interested and explained the history in such a way that it gave us an amazing insight during the times of the d-day landings. He was a wonderful and kind person with a great sense of humour and we would recommend his tour to anyone wishing to learn more about the D-day landings!
