Private geführte Alliierten-Tagestour ab Bayeux

Beschreibung

If you came to Normandy to truly understand what happened to our GIs on D Day , then splurge on this tour. Mike is an outstanding tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable re: D Day and WWII in general. He's personable, fun and took us to all the sites we wanted to see. Mike wants to please his client, and does that in spades. You will have fun and learn alot, see alot, on his tour. Enjoy!
Hi Laura, Wow thank you so much for that incredible review - it means a lot to me that you had such a wonderful experience! It was an absolute joy to meet you and be your guide. Warm regards, Mike
We toured with Mike for two days - the American and British tours along with a visit to St. Lo. Mike did a wonderful job and exceeded our expectations for the trip. His knowledge of the events, battles and area are excellent. We highly recommend Mike and his tours. You will not be disappointed.
We have just had a totally brilliant 3 days with Mike.- we went for the full immersion and booked 3 full day tours of the D-Day beaches. Day 1 we covered US D-Day, day 2 British D-Day and day 3, Canadian D-Day tour. Mike took us from the beaches to sites of interest, following the journey of individuals, and troops not just over D-Day, but over the days that followed D-Day. It was a superb, informative and above all, really entertaining 3 days. The depth of Mike’s knowledge, and evident passion for his subject was truly impressive. We were all there to learn and understand more, but one of our friends turned out to be a complete D-Day geek. Mike rose to the challenge and managed to produce fact after fact, completely satisfying the geek (we had no idea just HOW MUCH she knew, btw she had the BEST holiday EVER!) and still managed to keep us 'normal mortals' fully engaged. Mike has a great rapport, was really easy to get on with and, very important to us, has a great sense of humour. It was also obvious that he was highly respected amongst the other guides, but I’m not surprised, his knowledge seemed limitless! When we booked the Allied Victory Tours, Mike’s website also offers accommodation at the 1930’s/40’s vintage B&B he and his wife run. It is as authentic as it sounds, from decoration and furniture, to crockery and war time music at breakfast! The breakfast was deliciously continental and plentiful, including eggs from their own chickens. And as if this wasn’t enough of an experience, (and it was a totally immersive experience!) they also care for their own war memorial, and their own ‘jaw dropping’ onsite – WW2 Women of Valour – museum. Put aside 3 hours to let Deborah show you round her unbelievable collection! Heads up, they have gorgeous, very friendly, cats & dogs running about, but none are allowed in the property.
WOW what an amazing review, thank you so much! It was truly a huge pleasure to meet you, to have you stay with us, and to be your guide & host. Warmest regards from Normandy! Mike (Allied Victory Tours)
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Mike. He was so informative on all the sites that we visited. He also included an additional sight that we didn't think we would have time to see. We definitely recommend his tours.
This was an amazing day! Mike is so knowledgeable about the Normandy beaches, the invasion and WW II! He has so many stories to tell about the places and people. We could have spent another eight hours with him. The time with him went very quickly and he gave us so much information to process and remember. He took us places we would never have thought to visit as he really customized the tour for us. Ending our tour at the American Cemetery was emotional as I was able to see my cousin's grave, enhance his name with the Omaha Beach sand and reflect on his and others' service. Seeing the enormity of the Cemetery makes the sacrifice the men and women gave become very real. Mike's stories about individual grave sites made it very real and personal. Our one regret is that there is so much to see and one day really doesn't give a chance to absorb all that there is to see. We would have liked more time at the Cemetery as we arrived as the American flag was being lowered and so close to closing time. We certainly will recommend Mike and Allied Victory Tours to others. Five stars does not do Mike and this tour justice - rates a high 10!
Hi Gerald, It has been a real pleasure to meet you and I am really happy to know that you had a fantastic time. Thank you so much for being great company and your truly kind words. Kindest regards, Mike
We spent two full days with Mike on the beaches and the cemeteries as well as other significant stops along the way. He is extremely knowledgeable and we all learned far more than we ever knew. His enthusiasm for WWII history is contagious and we were all saddened when our two days were complete. Most importantly, he is just a great guy and so comfortable to spend time in his company.
Hi Susan, thank you so much for writing this incredibly nice review, it truly means a lot to me! I am hoping that you could let me know the reason for the four stars, so that I can improve my service and be a better guide? Kindest regards, Mike
Mike was the most fantastic guide we could have asked for! His knowledge was so extensive and he made it, not only a wonderful learning experience for us, but we had so much fun too. While it was a sobering experience, he was able to make it so enjoyable and informative, I left feeling very positive about the entire trip. He also took us to the Brittany American Cemetery the next day as well as Mont St Michel - he couldn't have been more gracious and all in all, the perfect guide!! I highly, 100% recommend him as your tour guide.
This was one of the best tours I have ever been on in my 20 years of travel to over 60 countries. Mike was not only extraordinarily knowledgeable and professional, but also extremely passionate about the subject and even tailored the experience to our needs (with four children under 9 years old along with the four adults). I can't recommend this tour enough. Absolutely a must do for anyone traveling to Normandy who wants to tap into the depth and breadth of knowledge of a true expert.
We had an amazing day with Dutch speaking Mike. He told so many interesting stories about WWII and D-Day, we could ask him any question and there was room to adjust the Tour according to our wishes. If you are in Normandy, you must do this tour to get the full picture of D-Day and all sites which were crucial in this operation
This tour is excellent and Mike is a tremendous guide. His extensive knowledge enlivened visits to the important sites of D-Day. Our group booked two full days with Mike and were not disappointed. Even if you have limited time, I would recommend a full day tour. There is so much to see and learn. In addition to showing us the more well-known sites, Mike took us to some out of the way locations where the personal stories made the experiences of those service men involved on this monumental mission come alive. Highly recommended!
