Ein Tag voller Licht und Schatten – die schwierigsten und atemberaubendsten Kapitel der Geschichte des 20. Jahrhunderts, mit Sorgfalt geführt. Am Vormittag besuchen wir die Gedenkstätte Mauthausen, das ehemalige Konzentrationslager oberhalb der Donau (Eintritt frei). Jenny, eine Historikerin von Ausbildung, führt Sie respektvoll durch den Granitsteinbruch, die "Stufen des Todes" und die nationalen Gedenkstätten und gibt einen Kontext, der einen schweren Ort zu einer wesentlichen Lektion macht. Wir nehmen diesen Teil langsam und leise an. Am Nachmittag verändert sich die Landschaft komplett, als wir zum Kehlsteinhaus — dem Adlernest — aufsteigen. Fahren Sie durch den mit Marmor ausgekleideten Tunnel, fahren Sie mit dem originalen Messingaufzug 124 Meter durch massives Gestein hinauf und treten Sie hinaus zu einem der größten Alpenpanoramen Europas auf 1.834 m. Der Kontrast zum Morgen ist genau der Punkt. Wir sind ehrlich über den Tag : 12–14 Stunden mit bedeutenden Fahrten, unterbrochen von malerischen Stopps. Vlad fährt, Jenny führt und fotografiert – man nimmt es einfach auf.

Panoramareiche Morgenfahrt nach Mauthausen (ca. 2 Std.) — Live-Kommentar, Badezimmer & Kaffee auf Anfrage. Während wir nach Westen fahren, stellt Ihr Fortgeschrittener den historischen Kontext der nationalsozialistischen Annexion Österreichs vor.
Wir stellen uns zuerst der dunklen Seite der Geschichte. Wenn Sie durch die Gedenkstätte, die Kaserne und den Steinbruch gehen, werden Sie Zeuge der Maschinen des Regimes. Es ist ein ernüchternder Start, der den Rest des Tages in der Realität erdet.
Wir fahren Richtung Deutsche Grenze. Die Landschaft wechselt von sanften Hügeln zu dramatischen Alpengipfeln. Dies ist die perfekte Zeit, um zu entspannen, Wasser zu trinken und Geschichten über den Mythos "Alpenfestung" zu hören.
Wir kommen am Obersalzberg an und nehmen den speziellen Messingaufzug hinauf zum Gipfel. Der Ausblick: Auf 1.834 Metern steht man da, wo Entscheidungen getroffen wurden, mit Blick auf Österreich und Deutschland. Mittagessen oben : Wir reservieren Zeit für das Mittagessen im Restaurant im ehemaligen Konferenzsaal. Genießen Sie traditionelle bayerische Küche mit atemberaubendem Panoramablick. (Mittagskosten nicht inbegriffen). Die Geschichte : Sehen Sie den Kamin von Mussolini und diskutieren Sie den Propagandawert dieses Rückzugsortes. Die Aussicht vom Adlernest hängt vom Wetter ab. Bitte bringen Sie auch im Sommer eine warme Jacke mit, da es am Gipfel windig sein kann.
Abendliche Fahrt zurück nach Wien (ca. 3,5 Stunden) — ausruhen und die Aussicht genießen. Nach einem langen, emotionalen und visuell reichen Tag können Sie bequem auf dem Rücksitz schlafen, während Ihr Berufskraftfahrer Sie sicher nach Hause bringt.

This is a wonderful tour. Both stops on this tour were interesting and worth going to. Jenny is an excellent tour guide, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The drive through the Austrian Alps was beautiful.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced. She was well prepared with maps and images to show us while we were traveling. Our driver was excellent as well. He made us feel safe on the autobahn and the vehicle was very comfortable. They modified the tour so that we could experience Schloss Altstaetter, as we had just seen the Mauthausen earlier. And our guide took lots of pictures of us as well.

An amazing tour from start to finish and its not only due to the tour destination which is a must do for all history enthusiasts but because of our tour guide(s) jenny and vladymir . Jenny was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very obliging in sharing her vast knowledge of austrian history and of course the sites of our tours as well. In fact both went above and beyond and shared other attractions and connected us to other events of note happening in and around Vienna itself. Her photos she shared of the harrowing events that happened at mauthausen were extremely interesting and at the eagles nest of easy company mortarman bradford freeman returning to eagles nest after so many decades were enlightening to say the least . I cannot recommend this trip enough. Jenny is an amazing guide! On the ride from Vienna to Mauthausen, Jenny provided us with an informative history of Austria. Her knowledge of Mauthausen and its history was amazing. It was such an emotional visit - but something that was such a huge part of world history. Then it was off to the Eagle’s Nest. She provided more historical facts about the region on our ride there. We had a cloudy day - the peak was actually in the clouds. But it was still stunning! We had a nice lunch and plenty of time to walk around and read about its history. On the long ride back to Vienna, Jenny set up a movie for us to watch in the car. A nice touch! the places are worthwhile to visit. however, I will invert the tour. first the eagle nest and then Maunthausen (more time will need here, this is a personal view). the guide knows, but will be advisable to provide some type of brochure and/or high level summary of what will be visited.

We understand your suggestion of reversing the order of the locations, but due to operational constraints and Mauthausen's early closing time, this isn't feasible. During your tour, a road accident caused us to arrive late at Mauthausen, shortening the visit there.
