Full Day customised tour

Our final full day in Cairo with Egy Excursions took us to Saqqara, the Hanging Church in Coptic Cairo, lunch at the Hawaii restaurant, Al-Azhar Park, and the National Egyptian Museum — where we had the privilege of seeing the royal mummies. It was an extraordinary, full day and every moment of it was enriched by our guide Hasan. I say this honestly — without Hasan, we would have seen these places but not truly understood them. Whether he was walking us through the ancient step pyramids at Saqqara, explaining the profound history of the Hanging Church, or standing beside the mummies at the Egyptian Museum and bringing their stories to life — his knowledge, passion and ability to connect everything across thousands of years of history was remarkable. Mahmood once again looked after us brilliantly as our driver — reliable, kind and always one step ahead. The whole day was seamlessly organised from pickup to drop-off. And what a way to end the day — a two-hour Nile cruise in the evening with our guide Isra. She is a wonderfully warm and friendly person who truly went above and beyond, making us feel like we were with a friend rather than a guide. We ended up singing songs together in the car on the way — one of those spontaneous, joyful moments you don’t plan but never forget. The food on the cruise was simple and modest, but the live performances were entertaining and the atmosphere on the Nile at night was magical. Egy Excursions gave us the Cairo experience we had dreamed of. If you are visiting and want to truly understand this extraordinary city and its history, book with them and ask for Hasan. He will change the way you see Egypt — and if you’re lucky enough to have Isra too, you’ll leave Cairo with a new friend.

Wonderful Company b/c Wonderful People

Foremost, I cannot sing the praises loudly enough for Shahd (trip organizer) and Ahmed (driver). I first met Ahmed while he was engaged by another tour agency (Nice Tours – do not use them) to provide driving service from my hotel to the Cairo airport as part of my overnight trip to Luxor. Ahmed and I immediately sparked a friendship and enjoyed music together on the drive. We exchanged numbers through WhatsApp and stayed in touch. When I arrived back from Luxor, I shared with Ahmed the poor experience with Nice Tours and he took it upon himself to introduce by to Shahd and their company Shahd contacted me quickly thereafter and, much like the sudden connection with Ahmed, Shahd and I hit it off and also began an immediate friendship for life. I had numerous excursions booked already and after discussing and cultivating a friendship with Shahd, I decided to cancel two trips and book through her. The first of those two trips was to Saqqara, the Serepium, and the Imhotep Museum. Shahd, Ahmed, and I continued our friendly daily dialogue in the interim. The day before the Saqarra trip, Shahd notified me she had a surprise for me and had also made a special reservation at a new lunch destination she had just tried. The surprise turned out to be (1) Ahmed would be the driver for Saqarra and (2) a unique and specially selected guide – Tamer. Tamer is a well-studied Egyptologist with published work. He has done digs with Zahi Hawass, former Minister of Tourism and Antiquities. He was extremely passionate, articulate, and engaging. A true teacher and guide. In fact, he exceeded any guide I had during my entire trip across all excursions made. Tamer and I have since remained in touch as well and when I return to Egypt, I have asked to venture to the GEM and other areas with him. You will never find a better guided experience than with Tamer. And, you will never find a more inviting and satisfying experience with a driver than Ahmed., And, you will never find a more personal and warm and dedicated to your happiness (not just satisfaction) than working with Shahd. I remain friends with Shahd and Ahmed and will for life. While I did a great deal of things in Egypt (ATV pyramids, GEM, Giza complex, Luxor, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, Luxor Temple, Temple of Karnak, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Faiyum, the Civilization Mueseum, and more, Shahd and Ahmed were the true highlight of my experience, with a special nod to Tamer as well. When I say friends for life, this is true. My last few days in Egypt, we spent each day together. I spent nights with Ahmed having tea as friends. They provided me the most wonderful birthday and birthday surprise I have ever experienced (see Faiyum review), and, on their day off, accompanied me to lunch and the Civilization Museum. My final night there, I took them to dinner at Zayeera Pyramids Elite as a special thank you. Their services went above and beyond just a tour. They are friends. They helped me switch a hotel. They helped me get extra cash due to my idiotic forgetfulness leaving my wallet in the States, and they helped me replace a ring I lost. Shahd routinely would ask ,“Are you happy”. Yes, Shahd, I am. And I will see you again next year and, as promised, I will learn Arabic by then (we committed to learning one another’s languages better, though, Shahd does speak better English than she gives herself credit for). Please, if you are reading this, look no further than booking your excursion with them. You too will be “happy.”

The most beautiful pyramids in Egypt

We did the day trip with Maria in Spanish, very complete explanations and the most beautiful pyramids in the area. We went inside both the red and stepped pyramid and loved it. Both pick up and drop off at the hotel, all perfect! Thank you so much!

Perfect, to do in addition to Giza

Very interesting tour, with our private driver and our guide. Really to do besides Giza. Less tourists and very nice especially the inside of the darchour pyramids with a longer route than Giza.

Tour Giza Cairo Sakkara

I had the good fortune to organize my trip to Cairo with Shahd and her team, and it was a truly wonderful experience. Shahd was always present and attentive: throughout the trip she sent me many messages to check if everything was going well. This constant care made me feel guided and protected, giving me great peace of mind. The driver, Ahmed, was impeccable: very careful and conscientious. He never drove abruptly or too fast, but always calmly and smoothly, which made every ride not only safe but also pleasant and relaxing. The guides, Magdy and Moamen, alternated during the days: both were very knowledgeable, kind, and able to convey their enthusiasm and passion for Egypt’s history and culture. What I particularly appreciated was their willingness to meet my requests: they took me to eat in authentic places frequented by locals and their friends, making me feel like part of the place rather than just a tourist. I was also impressed by their great flexibility: on the last day I decided, for various reasons, to completely change the scheduled program, and it was no problem at all. They were patient, understanding, and willing to adapt to every need. From the very beginning, Shahd proposed stimulating ideas and built a precise, well-organized itinerary. In conclusion, it was a beautiful experience that I highly recommend to anyone. If I have the chance, I will definitely travel with them again.
