Morgens um 9 Uhr holen Sie Ihr Hotel oder Ihren Wunschstandort in Hyderabad ab und machen einen ganztägigen, geführten Ausflug zum Weaving Village in Pochampally (2 Autostunden von Hyderabad entfernt) - wo man eine Mischung aus Tradition, Moderne, Kultur und Geschichte beobachtet und natürlich die berühmte IKKAT. Das Dorf ist weithin bekannt für die Pochampally Saris. Die Stadt des schönen Handwerks ist von üppigem Grün und Hügeln umgeben. Dieser landschaftlich reizvolle Lebensraum gehört zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe „Iconic Saree Weaving Cluster in India“. Pochampally hat traditionelle Webstühle, deren Design mehr als ein Jahrhundert alt ist. Das Pochampally-Gewebe ist im Volksmund als Bindungs- und Färbungsgewebe bekannt. Die Einzigartigkeit liegt in der Übertragung von Design und Farbe auf Kett- und Schussfäden, die dann zusammengewebt werden. Der Stoff ist in der Regel Baumwolle, Seide und Sico - eine Mischung aus Seide und Baumwolle. Die Farben selbst stammen zunehmend aus natürlichen Quellen und deren Mischungen. Die Interaktionen zwischen Konsumenten und Webern liefern Inputs für neue Designs. Die Weber der älteren und neuen Generation haben sich widerstandsfähig gezeigt und sich an den sich ändernden Geschmack der Verbraucher angepasst. Besuchen Sie die Weber, verbringen Sie Zeit damit, sie, ihren Lebensstil und den Prozess des Ikkat-Webens kennenzulernen. Besuchen Sie ein traditionelles Mittagessen (auf eigene Kosten) und besuchen Sie dann das Pochampally Museum, gefolgt von einem kurzen Spaziergang entlang des Sees und einem Besuch des Hauses mit 101 Türen! Gegen 16 Uhr Ihre Tour endet und Sie fahren zurück nach Hyderabad und bringen Sie um 18 Uhr zu Ihrem Hotel oder einem anderen gewünschten Ort in Hyderabad.

Very good tour with personal knowledge of Hyderabad. Textile tour was amazing and great to see all of the different steps involved in making the final textile. More enjoyment of the tour, less with the pressure to buy at the subsequent musuems/store.

Great seeing how done textiles are made but most of it was just a sales pitch to get us to buy over priced trinkets. If you are nervous about shipping on your own and are willing to pay 2-5 times the market rate to have a good guide this may be for you. If you are looking for an in depth understanding of cultural/historical textile manufacturing you may be better served on another tour.
Srinivas our guide gave us a most enjoyable day. We visited a village where we saw the tie dye process and walked through the village. We visited beautiful shops. It was a long drive out of hydrabad but our driver got us through the traffic efficiently. It was good to learn so much about India and the area of Hydrabad from a resident of the area

Mr. Srinivas gave me the most wonderful solo tour of Bhoodan Pochampally. He was a wonderful host and incredibly knowledgeable. The village that we visited for handmade ikat was amazing. You get to learn about the process for making this very special fabric from start to finish. We met artists in their homes and watched them create. I bought beautiful fabric that I will cherish forever. It was such a great experience to go outside of the city and see village life as well.

Amazing trip! Even the drive there was full of fascinating information about India and Hyderabad. Then we went into the dye and weaving houses to see the process of making this amazing saris. I came out of it with a greater appreciation of the art, as well as the time, effort, and skill involved in making them. It makes the stunning sari fabric I bought even more special. That was a theme with Srinu as my guide - not only did I have opportunities to see and purchase amazing textiles, pearls, and bidri metalwork, but every stop focused on showing me the beautiful art and educating me on the details and the process. Absolutely a great use of your time in India!
