Wir beginnen unser Lern- und Entdeckungserlebnis am legendären Leuchtturm von Barra, der sich in der Festung Santo Antônio befindet, wo wir um den Ort herumgehen, tolle Fotos machen und die Brise genießen werden. Dies ist der Eingang zur Allerheiligenbucht.
Hier gründete der Portugiese Thomé de Souza Salvador! Der demokratischste Strand der Stadt, warmes und ruhiges Wasser, wo Sie alle Arten von Menschen finden. Ich empfehle dringend, einen Morgen zu verbringen oder während des Sonnenuntergangs zurückzukommen.

Die Kathedrale gilt als eine der wichtigsten Kirchen Brasiliens und war der 4. Tempel, der im 17. Jahrhundert von den Jesuiten in Salvador erbaut wurde, und besitzt eine großartige Sammlung sakraler Kunst.
Hier sind wir auf der Spitze des Hügels, wo die erste Hauptstadt Brasiliens gebaut wurde. Auf diesem Platz befindet sich der berühmte Lacerda-Aufzug aus dem 19. Jahrhundert, der die untere und die obere Stadt verbindet. Rio Branco Palace, der Sitz des ersten Gouverneurs von Brasilien, Thomé de Souza, das Rathaus und die Casa de Camara, wo noch immer die Stadtverwaltung arbeitet. Wir beginnen damit, das historische Zentrum Pelourinho zu Fuß zu erkunden und besuchen die Kathedrale und das Kloster und die Kirche São Francisco de Assis. Wir haben Zeit für Street Food oder ein Restaurant. Dies ist die Chance, mit Einheimischen in Kontakt zu treten und in unser tägliches Leben einzutauchen.

Der berühmte Platz, auf dem sich heute die Stiftung Casa Jorge Amado befindet, einer meiner Lieblingsschriftsteller, und auf dem auch Michael Jackson mit Olodum das Lied „Sie kümmern sich nicht wirklich um uns“ aufgeführt hat.

Highly recommend this private tour with Gabriela. She showed us the favorite haunts of locals and even took us to the best ice cream shop. She was very knowledgeable about the local history as we walked Pelirunho area. She was especially attentive to our needs as one of our party was unwell.

Gabriela met us near the cruise ship at about 8:15am and from there, we had a lovely 6 hour tour of the city, with a lunch stop, (our expense) in the touristy, (but a must see), area of upper old town. Gabriela’s English is excellent and her knowledge of the city is superb. Although there are countless churches in Salvador, we limited our visits to the Bonfim Basilica. Had we seen more, the tour would have extended another hour. Book this tour without concern. It’s massively better value than any cruise ship excursion.

We loved touring Sqlvador with Gabriella. We booked an all day tour that started at 10 am from our hotel. She took us around the city’s most significant neighborhood by car and on foot. She knows the local history real well and she clearly loves telling others about it. Gabriella who is originally from Argentina also speaks very good English which we found was rare in the north east. We highly recommend her!
