Das Weingut João Portugal Ramos ist für sein vielfältiges Angebot an Weinen bekannt, die sowohl aus einheimischen portugiesischen Rebsorten als auch aus internationalen Sorten hergestellt werden. Ihr Portfolio umfasst Weißweine wie Alvarinho und Verdelho sowie Rotweine wie Touriga Nacional und Syrah.

Heute gilt es als eines der renommiertesten Weingüter Portugals. Quinta São José da Pêra Manca ist besonders für seine Rotweine bekannt, die aus traditionellen regionalen Rebsorten wie Aragonez, Trincadeira und Alicante Bouschet hergestellt werden. Diese Weine sind für ihren intensiven Geschmack, ihre hervorragende Struktur und ihr Alterungspotenzial bekannt.
Eine der Weinkellerei-Optionen auf der Reiseroute. Ervideira ist eines der säkularen Weinunternehmen in Portugal, das sich seit 1880 der Weinproduktion widmet. Derzeit sind in der vierten und fünften Generation aktive Produzenten tätig. Das Anwesen verfügt über insgesamt 160 Hektar Weinberge, die auf Familienbesitz in Vidigueira und Reguengos verteilt sind. Von Anfang an bestand die Mission darin, wirklich einzigartige und exklusive Weine zu kreieren und die Qualität portugiesischer Weine auf dem internationalen Markt zu bewahren. Geleitet vom Erbe ihres Urgroßvaters setzen sie auf Werte, die Tradition und Innovation verbinden.
Eine der Weingutoptionen. Die Herdade do Esporão präsentiert sich als geschichtsträchtiges Weingut, das herausragende Qualitätsweine produziert. Die Esporão-Reben liegen im Herzen von Reguengos de Monsaraz, wo die Weine ausgewogener und verführerischer, gleichzeitig gedeihend und angenehm, üppig und mit gutem Alterungspotenzial sind. Wenn die Reben die Lunge der Herdade do Esporão sind, ist der Keller das Herz, das im Rhythmus der Ernte und als Ergebnis der vom Kalender und vom Önologieteam festgelegten Arbeit schlägt.
Die Knochenkapelle ist eine einzigartige und faszinierende Sehenswürdigkeit. Es handelt sich um eine kleine Kapelle, die an die Kirche des Heiligen Franziskus (Igreja de São Francisco) angeschlossen ist und für ihre makabere Innenausstattung bekannt ist. Die Kapelle wurde im 16. Jahrhundert von Franziskanermönchen mit dem Ziel erbaut, die Botschaft von der Vergänglichkeit des Lebens und der Bedeutung der Besinnung auf die Sterblichkeit zu vermitteln. Die Wände und Säulen der Kapelle sind vollständig mit menschlichen Knochen bedeckt, was eine eher unheimliche und düstere Atmosphäre schafft. Die in der Kapelle verwendeten Knochen stammen vermutlich von etwa 5.000 Mönchen. Die Überreste wurden aus Platzgründen von nahegelegenen Friedhöfen exhumiert und dann sorgfältig zu komplizierten Mustern und Mustern angeordnet. Totenköpfe dienen als Dekorationselemente und über dem Eingang befindet sich sogar eine gruselige Inschrift, die übersetzt „Wir Knochen, die hier sind, erwarten deine“ bedeutet. Während der Barbareneinfälle und der christlichen Periode wurden verschiedene Veränderungen vorgenommen. Sie alle haben die Hauptmerkmale geändert. Der majestätische Tempel wurde erst im 19. Jahrhundert in seinem ursprünglichen Glanz wiederhergestellt.

We made the tour of Évora with the guide José Costa and we had an amazing experience during the tour. We participate in tour and tasting in the wines of Cartuxa and Ervideira. Despite the rainy day, the charm of Évora and the wineries became even more evident. José Carlos was super attentive, kind and helpful in the information about the region and indication of the restaurant Fialho for our lunch. Delicious food and nice Mood. In fact, it was an experience that marked our memory and the cordiality of the attendance made all the difference. Our tour was scheduled to take place the day before. However, as informed by the agency, the driver of the van that would take us to the excuse had a problem, and we were only notified after the agreed departure time. This situation ended up undermining our previously scheduled agenda to explore the cities of the Lisbon region, demanding the reprogramming of our journey's scripts. Meanwhile, the Enterprise ended up solving the problem and indicating José Costa to perform the excuse in a private car, and the inconvenience was overcome by the excellent day and experience that we had unraveled Evora.

A great tour taking in 2 wonderful wineries, visit to a cork factory and a historic site. Didn't think I would enjoy the cork excursion but it was great with knowledgeable and funny guide. Lunch was at a small restaurant with delicious and much more than we needed food Our guide Gibson was terrific, a safe and knowledgeable driver. The company was great managing to add an extra at the last minute Would highly recommend this tour.

Miguel was a wonderful guide/driver for the day. He is from the area and provided a lot of history which we enjoyed, especially his stories of his days at the university in Evora. We were able to see everything we wanted and additional sights based on his recommendation. Great tour!

A Long Tiring Day. Our driver was an hour late for pick up because of Lisbon traffic, we were further delayed getting out of Lisbon because of traffic. We were late for the cork production factory. They had to find a replacement guide to explain cork production. He looked like he just got out of bed and was very sarcastic , bordering on rude. The next stop was a winery and as usual we were late for the tasting. Everything was rushed there. They filled our wine glasses almost to the brim. It looked like they just wanted to get us drunk and out the door. The next stop was a fancy restaurant for lunch. We were late and the servers totally disinterested in us. It too an hour to get a cheese plate appetizer, we finally just gave up on the main course and left. We were then supposed to go to the Chappel of Bones but for not have enough time. Finally at our last wine tasting, Ervideiria we had a fantastic time! We were starving after about 6 hours on the road. They cooked us a meal and we had some great wines. Very friendly staff, this stop basically saved our trip and prevented it from becoming a disaster. The whole day trip was about ten hours. There were four of us, two couples and I would have to say we were disappointed in the overall experience.

Miguel was the guide who escorted my disabled hubby and I for the day. He was very knowledgeable about the area’s history and also had great anecdotes. We have had many private guides over the years but none as considerate and helpful to my husband. Miguel would always make things as easy as possible for him.
