Die Chandragiri-Seilbahntour ist das berühmteste Tagestourenpaket im Kathmandu-Tal. Es liegt südwestlich der Stadt Kathmandu (eine Autostunde entfernt) auf einer Höhe von 2551 m / 8370 ft. Die 2,4 km lange „Cable Car“-Fahrt wurde 2016 eröffnet und nimmt Sie mit auf eine 10-minütige, aufregende Fahrt zum Bhaleshwor Mahadev-Tempel auf der Spitze des Hügels. Die Tour gilt als ideales Ziel für einen Tagesausflug am Rande der überfüllten Hauptstadt. Der Aussichtspunkt auf dem Hügel bietet Ihnen einen wunderschönen Panoramablick auf das Kathmandu-Tal. Hier genießen Sie auch die faszinierende Aussicht auf die umliegenden Berge, darunter den Mount Everest, den Ganesh Himal, den Mount Manaslu und die Langtang-Bergkette. Darüber hinaus können Sie auch den Schneefall auf dem Tempelgelände erleben, wenn Sie es mitten im Winter besuchen.
Nach Ihrem Besuch in den Chandragiri Hills werden Sie auch auf eine kurze Tour durch den Swayambhunath-Tempel mitgenommen (eine Stunde Fahrt). This tour was easily one of the highlights of my time in Nepal. My guide, Prakash, was outstanding. His English was excellent, which made everything easy to understand, but what really made the difference was how knowledgeable and passionate he was. He taught me so much about Buddhism, Nepali culture, and especially Nepalese history. I learned fascinating details about the 17th century that I never would have known on my own. It didn’t feel like a scripted tour; it felt like walking around with someone who truly loves sharing his country’s story. The Chandragiri Cable Car ride was spectacular, with amazing views, and visiting the Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath) with proper cultural and religious context made the experience much more meaningful. Lunch was another highlight — Prakash chose a place serving traditional chicken momo, and they were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. It felt authentic, not touristy. Most importantly, Prakash was just a genuinely kind, friendly person. Easy to talk to, patient with questions, and very sincere. If you’re considering this tour, I highly recommend asking for Prakash. It turned sightseeing into a real cultural experience

I had a wonderful morning with my guide Prakash. He knew a lot about the places we visited! I was particularly impressed by the cable car. The view is truly mind-blowing. Prakash was patient when I had questions, gave me space to look around and take photos, and regularly asked if he should take a photo of me at beautiful locations! Super nice! I had a very pleasant experience.

We recommend this trip highly for those looking for a nice half day trip with a fun cable car ride, nice views of the city and surrounding hills and several interesting temple visits. On a day with less haze, views of the Himalayas would have been spectacular. What made the trip really special was our guide Biraj. This was such a fun experience! Our tour guide Biraj patiently explained the history and significance of each site to us, which enhanced the experience. Brilliant tour with Prakash. I was picked up on time and given a brief overview of the tour ahead. I found Prakash to be polite and engaging throughout the day.
