Nach einem kurzen Treffen und einer Einführung in die Tour fahren wir zum Museum östlich von Beirut, um mehr über die historischen Stätten des Libanon zu erfahren (1 Stunde Besuch). Wir fahren dann nach Downtown Beirut Park das Auto und starten Sie unsere Wanderung zu den Souks, dem Parlament, dem Star Square, den Hammams, Mohamed elAmin Moschee, St. Georges Kathedrale, die Wasserfront, Zaitunay Bay die Taubenfelsen und die Corniche zu besuchen . 2 bis 3 Stunden). Beirut, eine Stadt der Vielfalt und Widersprüche! Zerstört und 7-mal in der Geschichte wieder aufgebaut, waren im Grunde Naturkatastrophen die Ursache, dann hatten wir von 1975 bis 1990 einen Bürgerkrieg! Wir fahren morgens zum Museum im Herzen der Ostseite von Beirut. Das Nationalmuseum wurde in den vierziger Jahren erbaut, in den siebziger Jahren zerstört und in den neunziger Jahren wiederbelebt. Aber was haben wir getan, um unsere wertvollen Entdeckungen zu schützen? Lassen Sie uns einige Antworten erhalten und dieses wundervolle Museum besuchen, um mehr zu erfahren… In der Stadt Beirut; Dieses Gebiet wurde während des Bürgerkriegs in den siebziger Jahren schwer zerstört. In den neunziger Jahren wunderbar restauriert… Das Parlamentsgebäude, der Regierungspalast, die römischen „Hammams“, der Märtyrerplatz, die größte Moschee von Beirut und die renovierten Souks sind alle zu Fuß erreichbar DT überprüft, was an der schicken Wasserfront, in der Zeitunay-Bucht, vor sich geht… Restaurant, Cafés, Bars stehen für Sie bereit… Wir fahren dann mit dem Auto in die Raouche-Gegend, um das Wahrzeichen der Stadt zu entdecken. "The Pigeon Rocks" und fahren Sie zurück zu Ihrem Hotel.

Die Beirut Souks wurden während der Libanonkriege vollständig zerstört und in den neunziger Jahren wieder aufgebaut und restauriert, um ein erstaunliches Open-Air-Einkaufszentrum im Zentralbezirk der libanesischen Hauptstadt zu werden.

Dave is not just an amazing tour guide but an overall amazing human. His love for Lebanon and Beirut shines clearly in this tour as he takes you through the history of this country spanning centuries and still going through tremendous changes. I cannot recommend Dave enough. We were given his name by another traveller and were told how good he was. We were not disappointed. Dave told us the history of Lebanon, from ancient, through recent occupations and civil war to current times with port explosions, demonstrations in 2019, the banking crisis, and more. Good fun, very interesting and very flexible. We explored the old town (hit hard by the port explosion in 2020), the parliament, and finally saw why Beirut was once described as the Paris of the Middle East. Dave amended his tour at our request and we skipped the museum and headed up to the Jeita Grotto, and across to Byblos. We also negotiated another trip with him up the Cedars of God, and then across to Tripoli. Always informative and interesting - Dave also found us some great spots to stop for food, coffee and treats.

If you want firstly a superb guide with incredible knowledge and information, and value for money tour than this is the one for you. I had a fantastic half day tour of more then 6 hours, what I saw and experienced was beyond my expectations, Dave is a brilliant guide and I would recommend him very highly for anyone that wants to experience the past and present in Beirut. I only had two days in Beirut / Lebanon so wanted to maximize my time here! Dave of Dave Lebanon D.M.C. picked me up at Beirut Rafic Hariri airport as I arrived from the States and we immediately began this half-day tour!! Dave is a life-long resident of Beirut so can add value and insight that others might not be able to. We moved at my pace, and Dave gave me insight into the current state of Lebanese affairs, the struggling economy, historical background, and so much more!! Dave knows Beirut and Lebanon very well and speaks all the languages and has many contacts throughout the various religious, political, and cultural groups. During the tour Dave eventually got me to my Hotel to check-in, and then we continued on our tour of Beirut.
