Es ist ein großes Buddha-Bild aus Bronze oder Phra Mongkhon. Bophit ist mit 9,5 Metern über die Runde und einer Höhe von 12,5 Metern eines der größten Buddha-Bilder aus Bronze. Das Buddha-Bild sitzt in der Position von Subduing Mara. Während des zweiten Falls von Ayutthaya wurden das Gebäude und das Image durch einen Brand schwer zerstört. Das heutige Vihara- und Buddha-Bild wurde unter König Rama V rekonstruiert und renoviert. Das östliche Gebiet des Vihara war früher Sanam Luang, wo königliche Einäschungszeremonien stattfanden.
Die einst exzellente Hauptstadt, 80 km von Ayutthaya entfernt, wurde 1767 von der aus Burma stammenden Macht niedergedrückt und ist derzeit ein UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Eine große Anzahl von Palästen, Tempeln und Chedis steht noch. Im Jahr 1782 wurde Ayutthaya zur Hauptstadt von Thailand. Die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten vereinigen die riesigen Bronzestatuen von Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit, außerdem den Wat Phra Sri Sanphet und den Wat Yai Chai Mang Khon.
Das Wat Phra Sri Sanphet befindet sich auf der Stadtinsel im Park des Weltkulturerbes von Ayutthaya im Bezirk Pratu Chai Sub. Es wurde seit dem 5. März 1935 von der Abteilung für Bildende Kunst als nationales Kulturdenkmal registriert. Dieses Kloster war der wichtigste Tempel von Ayutthaya und liegt auf dem Gelände des Grand Palace. Es diente als Modell für den Tempel des Smaragd-Buddha in Bangkok.
Wat Lokaya Sutha, der „Tempel der Erde“, befindet sich nahe der Nordwestspitze der historischen Insel in der Nähe des alten Königspalastes und des Wat Phra Si Sanphet. Das Highlight des Klosters ist das 42 Meter lange, liegende Buddha-Bild, das normalerweise in ein orangefarbenes Tuch gehüllt ist. Abgesehen von dem zentralen Prang, der sich in ziemlich gutem Zustand befindet, ist heute nicht mehr viel als die Basis der Hauptgebäude erhalten.
Wat Mahathat (Tempel der großen Relikte) befindet sich fast mitten im Zentrum von Ayutthaya. Wat Mahathat war nicht nur das symbolische Zentrum, in dem die Relikte des Buddha aufbewahrt wurden, sondern auch der Wohnsitz des Obersten Patriarchen oder Anführers der thailändischen buddhistischen Mönche. Es wird vermutet, dass der Tempel im 14. Jahrhundert n. Chr. (Frühe Ayutthaya-Zeit) errichtet wurde.
Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon ist einer der wichtigsten Tempel in Ayutthaya und hat eine lange und illustre Geschichte. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen antiken Stätten in Ayutthaya ist dies immer noch ein aktiver Tempel, in dem Mönche wohnen. Thailänder besuchen Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, um nicht nur Buddha Respekt zu erweisen, sondern auch um einen der angesehensten Könige der thailändischen Geschichte, König Naresuan der Große, zu ehren.

Aey was our guide and she was absolutely amazing!! She went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. If you have the chance, I would absolutely reccomend signing up for this tour. Definitely our favorite day of the trip so far!!
Guide was very informative and very funny. The tour was a great experience over all. The temples were beautiful. I did not have small enough bills when entering the temples for them to give change so the guide was kind enough to cover my admission fees until I could repay him at the end of the tour.
Despite the afternoon heat, the tour was fantastic! Our guide, Aey, and driver were attentive and considerate throughout the entire experience. She even bought us drinks a few times to help us cool down. With the flexibility of our private tour, we were able to spend as much time as we wanted at each site. Our driver, Mr. Kit (forgive me if I have misspelled his name), expertly navigated the traffic both in and out of Bangkok. The ride to Ayutthaya was smooth and comfortable, without any jerky movements. We enjoyed a delicious meal at an open-air restaurant. Since we finished the tour a bit early, Aey graciously offered a shopping stop, but we chose to head back to the hotel to escape the heat. Thank you, Aey and Mr. Kit!
A nice tour with Sophie as our guide. Sophie was good at explaining things and at times perhaps went overboard. All well intentioned, but may be good give the clients some breathing room. We also had an excellent driver whose name we don’t recall, but she was resourceful negotiating traffic and safe.
I had a an amazingly pleasant day with my tour guide! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind and thoughtful. She chose a restaurant where I was able to try savory Thai food and the best butterfly pea drink. It was quite hot and humid during our tour, and she was cognizant of the heat and provided me water and fruit. She’s a star!

Wonderful day in Ayutthaya on our private tour with Aey. She and the driver picked us up at our hotel and drove us north of Bangkok. We spent the day touring the ancient city while earning the history. Great lunch at a local restaurant and a tour of the palace. Aey was very knowledgeable of the city and it's rich history. Highly recommended if you wish to avoid large groups and have a customized experience.

I tried to send a confirmation email the day before, but I was picked up at the wrong hotel. Therefore, I waited at the hotel entrance for an hour. Tour companies are not responding well to phone calls. The tour drivers were very friendly and responsive. He was a good driver and accepted our wishes. The restaurants I was introduced to were clean, staff friendly, affordable and tasted good. I finished my Ayutthaya sightseeing ahead of schedule, so on my way back to Bangkok, I stopped at a fake floating market and elephant stand for tourists, even though I hadn't asked. A 10-minute boat ride through dirty, smelly ponds costs 200 baht per person. It's high boring and the worst attraction of child deception. You shouldn't go.

Our driver picked us up on time at the hotel and the ride went smoothly. We visited all the planned temples and were even able to visit one or two more. Visits have adapted to our pace. Only small downside: the recommended restaurant was not good. Extremely comfortable car for 2 (mini van)
