Max was a fantastic guide for us on our two day tour which just concluded a few hours ago! His knowledge of the history of the city and famous sites, plus his inside knowledge of how to get around made our two days extremely enjoyable and full of unique experiences! I would highly recommend you choose Max as your guide- you will be glad you did!

Max and Marco were excellent guides of the city. We got to experience and learn things about the city that we would have never known about. The only complaints I have of if I were to have any was the person that guided us through the Vatican seemed to rush us. He was very informative and knew a lot about the Vatican history but walked extremely fast and seemed to want to get us in and out. The first day was longer than the second day. The first day we went to the Vatican Museums, The Sistine Chapel, St Peters Square, St Peters Basilica and the Spanish steps. On the second day we went to Palatine Hill, Catacombe San Sebastiano, Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Marco and Max made sure to give us plenty of time for photos and even took photos for us. Would highly recommend the two of them.

Max, our guide at the Colliseum was fantastic. We are seniors and he was very accommodating as to the pace he set for us. Very informative, kind friendly guide. Our driver for the 2 days was also great. Knowledgeable, personable, and took us to great places to dine. I'm terrible with names but I believe his name was Marco. Our guide at Vatican City, again I don't remember her name, was not my favorite. She was knowledgeable, but lacked in being personable, and seemed to be rushing us. Overall, a great experience for what was a once in a lifetime trip for us.

Pricey, but a good option to see a lot of the most popular attractions efficiently and without having to arrange all the transportation and related logistics yourself. Marco, Max and Nadia (our tour guides) were all very friendly and knowledgeable. An opportunity for improvement is to have audio heads sets available for the FULL tour. Nadia asked if we wanted to this option at the Vatican (we purchased for a nominal charge). This was an excellent choice as our whole group (of six) could hear her at ALL times no matter the crowd noise or other distractions. She was excellent by the way and extremely knowledgeable and will be a delight for those who like to get into the details. Otherwise, this technology option should be available for the whole tour. Absent this, we found (other than at the Vatican as mentioned) only the 1-2 people immediately next to the tour guide could hear them at all times and especially when crowds were heavy and noise levels increased. We had one not so great experience. On the first day, we were taken for lunch to a restaurant and told in advance there would be a 27 euro fix menu option or we could order from the menu. When we arrived at the restaurant we were given menus, but strangely our orders were never taken and instead an assortment of appetizers and meals were served family style. We received a bill working out to 40 euros per person which was a unwelcomed surprise as many of the menu items if we ordered individually were much less in cost. Also, several members of my travel group thought the meal was on the lower end of the quality spectrum compared to all the other meals we enjoyed on our trip to Italy. All in all, not a good value proposition. If not for the audio and restaurant experiences, I would rate the tour experience as five stars. That said and despite these two items, I recommend the tour.

This private tour was simply amazing. The tour guides, Max and Katarina, were professional and very knowledgeable about the Rome venues. While traveling thru never-ending, nail-biting traffic Max gave eloquent commentary on all that was to be seen around us from his Mercedes van. During the walking tours Max also provided insightful talks on the Colosseum, Pantheon and Trevi fountain, just to name a few. At the Vatican, Katarina gave exceptional dialogue on St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and history lessons on the Vatican museums and Popes, plus much more. It was great to be whisked thru the hours-long lines very quickly and expertly. And finally, being picked up, and dropped off at our hotel was just "the icing on the cake". Wonderful 2-day tour; vehicle took us to each location, parked nearby, and then we were guided by experts who both bypassed the lines and provided insights and in-depth commentary way in excess of what most people get. I had been to Rome before--this trip was very much in excess of the normal tour. Max's insights on ancient Rome and the various emperor's homes and lifestyles were incredibly informative and interesting. His info on the Colosseum--to include on the engineering aspects of construction and shows was very interesting and informative. The catacomb tour at San Sebastian on the Appian Way was first rate. On day 2, Claudio provided us great insights on the art at the Vatican, to include an incredibly interesting comparison of Michelangelo and Raphael. Marco's tour of fountains. cafe's, lunch-time tratooria's and the Roman touristic sites such as the Trevi Fountain was great. This was somewhat expensive, but well worth it--gave unparalleled access with expert guides. I highly recommend.

Absolutely recommended! We completed the 2 day tour of Rome with Max and Levino (?). I cannot give enough praise for the professionalism of these two gentleman. Due to scheduling alterations because of the pope holding a sudden meeting, they changed our schedule and was able to allow us to see everything scheduled. We actually were able to see more than expected due to their recommendations and time allowed. Rates as one of the top weekends of my life. If your going to Rome, please don't do it alone and choose these guides. You won't regret it!

We booked Max for the 2-day tour of Rome. It was truly a VIP experience! The knowledge that he has of Rome is extraordinary. And the skip the line benefit was awesome. We would have never seen a quarter of what we saw with Max if we had done this with another tour company or on our own. We learned so much about the beautiful city from him. He is passionate about Rome’s history, and you can tell he knows everyone. Thank you, Max, for making our two days in Rome fun and educational. We can’t wait to visit again and see more! This is my third time hiring Max in Rome. The two previous times were one-day trip excursions from the cruise port. This time, we were staying in Rome and so booked the two day tour with Max. Despite having to change up plans due to an unexpected event with the Pope in St. Peter’s Basilica, we had a great tour with Max the first day, then we had Salvatore and Corinne on the next day. A private tour with Max and his crew is the only way to go, so worth the money. When you see large groups of people in the Vatican with their earpieces listening to a guide, you can’t help but feel thankful you are not with them! Max is so knowledgeable. We also hired him for a day trip to Positano and Sorrento but he was unable to personally take us due to other obligations but arranged Salvatore to take us, and my, we could not have been more pleased! We LOVED Salvatore! He took us to a limoncello factory then on to Sorrento for shopping, then called ahead to a restaurant in Positano to make sure we had the best table for lunch! Given it’s a three and a half hour drive from Rome to Amalfi Coast, we spent a lot of time with Salvatore. He was so funny and entertaining, yet also pointed out places and gave us history along the way. So, in conclusion, as you can tell, I totally trust Max and his partners to be the best guides in Italy and would hire them again in a heartbeat if I needed tours, excursions or transfers (I failed to mention him arranging airport transfers to and from for usas well). It is SO worth the money. We love you Max!

Max was a great tour guide! He brought the history of Rome to life. He taught us a lot while also keeping it fun and engaging. We had an amazing experience and would absolutely recommend this company.
