Too much walking before making it to The the big finish. For those that cannot walk it must be modified. Too much money not to see what was paid for. Also heard nothing about Circus Maximus or Palatine Hill. Lots of opinion but the facts got lost.
Dear Nancy, thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. This is a tour which involves a fair amount of walking, and is not wheelchair accessible, given the uneven ground terrain within the archeological area. Unfortunately the archeological area of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill is quite vast, and there is not much we can do to modify the itinerary to shorten the walk because that would mean missing on much of the important archeological sites. Three hours are not sufficient to see everything there is to see, one would need about a week to do that. We are confident that we are delivering wonderful tours based on most feedback and reviews. We appreciate your input!
Nicola was an extremely knowledgeable guide who spoke passionately and informatively about all aspects of the Colosseum and Forum's history. He handled all questions well reinforcing his detailed knowledge. The Colosseum is a phenomenal piece of antiquity, a tragedy that so much of the original inside is no longer visible but the building is a testament to the ingenuity of Roman architects in 70AD. The view from the Colosseum down the valley to the Forum was magical, passing the Temple of Vesta and the site of Julius' funeral pyre as we approached the main site of the Senate. A wonderful tour.
Thank you very much for your kind review!
Extraordinary guide, it took us into a different century! She was really interesting, she gave more than the customer asked for!
Merci beaucoup! :-)
Our guide, Vincenzo , really knows the history of Ancient Rome , the Palentine Hill and the Colosseum. As English speakers we found him easy to understand . He answered all our questions in a thoughtful way, so we could tell he knows the subject matter. His presentation was interesting and filled with facts. He is creative and draws verbal pictures of the people and events so we could “see” what it was like in Ancient Rome. Since my husband and I have Pompeii as our next stop we especially liked his knowledge of Pompeii because he is a guide there also. Be prepared to stand and walk for a full 2 hours, including uphill to the top of Palentine Hill and climbing the stairs in the Colosseum . We are near 70 years old and we didn’t have any trouble, but we are really active and fit.
Had a wonderful semi-private tour of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forums with Walks and our guide Olga - and she was absolutely wonderful! She was an encyclopedia of information and extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!
Thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed the tour!
As most Tourists I was in awe of The history. I was disappointed in the guide. This was quite an expense tour which was advertised as 3 hours. The guides appearing mostly occasionally bored and looking for shade. Contrary to the guide we had for the Vatican/Sistene Chapel the previous day, the guide for the Forum/Colleseum, This guide seemed to be more interested in finding shade, offered few Suggestions for photo opportunities and offered more in depth information only when prompted by my friend who had been o the Forum previously. What I learned was that the quality of the process is entirely dependent on the “assigned” guide.
Thank you for your review! We will take your comments into account and striving to perform better, we thank you for pointing out those things we can improve.
We had an excellent private tour with Renata. There is a huge amount to see in the forum and colosseum, and yet she managed to keep everything relaxed, well paced, and interesting. We highly recommend this tour.
The experience never happened. We showed up at the designated meeting spot on time at 2pm on October 17. Our guide was nowhere to be found. We paced up and down the street and asked at least four other tour guides where we might be missing our guide, but to no avail. After searching for our guide for 45 minutes we decided to leave and find a place to eat lunch while we tried to figure out how to salvage our first afternoon in Rome. A complete disaster! Now I need to figure out how to get a refund since the operators made it clear no refunds are allowed. I wonder if that includes when the guide does not show?!?
A wonderful tour. Obviously it was great skipping the very long queue. More than that, however, it was an engaging and entertaining tour of this memorable site. Our tour guide Jaber was thoroughly knowledgeable, with a wonderful sense of humour. He put everyone at ease immediately and helped make this a superb experience. Thanks, Jaber!
Well we had some dumb people in group. Wandered off did not listen. 10 mins long time latter they turn up. Guide was frustrated and said 10 miss to look at floor of Colosseum...blazing sun...but yet people just wandered off. Had to wait for them. Grrrrrr. Poor guide. Honestly people in group Shut Up and listen and follow guide. Left before tour finished. Grrrrrrr what debacle
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are happy you thought the tour guide was good, and are sorry about the other tourists who were not attentive. Certainly, this was beyond our control.
