We had an awesome time in Xochimilco! It was the highlight of our trip. Joss was an awesome guide and very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area! Because of this trip we were able to do many things we wouldn’t have been able to find ourselves, like a less-crowded trajinera dock, lunch with locally grown food on a chinampa, and the axolotl sanctuary! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn about Xochimilco and the history of the area!
We had such a memorable experience on this Xochimilco tour and would highly recommend it. It was perfect for our family of four—our 16-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter both loved it. The entire day felt unique and immersive, from the peaceful boat ride through the eco-protected canals to the incredible home-cooked meal. A standout for our kids was the axolotl sanctuary—they were completely fascinated and it ended up being the highlight of the experience for them. Joss, our guide, was wonderful—so knowledgeable, warm, and engaging throughout the tour. Everything felt thoughtful and well-paced, and we truly felt like we got an authentic glimpse into the area. Carlos our driver was wonderful, too. Such a special experience and one we’ll definitely remember!
Fantastic tour in Xochimilco, which includes taking a boat ride on a quiet eco-protected canal, a delicious home-cooked meal, and a visit to an axolotl sanctuary. Joss, our guide, was knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend!
Thanks for your words. We really love that you enjoyed this day as we do. Joss had a beautiful time with you and your beautiful family. Hope see you again
Joss was awesome! She shared so much information about the history of Xochimilco and many other different parts of Mexican history. She was kind, open to questions we asked, and geared her tour to interests and curiosities we shared about. The stops included: 1. An easy pick up at our choice of address within Mexico City 2. the center of Xochimilco and the church 2. A preserved, historic site in Xochimilco 3. A tour through the canals of of the floating gardens of Xochimilco- this included a stop at a local restaurant where we enjoyed a traditional Mexicsn meal AND a stop at a local place doing axolotl conservation and work 4. A drop off back in Mexico City The stops were a lot of fun and we learned a lot from all of the locals we spoke with. I highly recommend checking this out if you want a laid back, informative (and delicious!) experience getting to know Xochimilco!
Hello Mel. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to take you and your friends to this tour. Our guide enjoyed a lot this tour with you. Hope see you again.
Herons, flowers, canals and an abundance of delicious lunch fare made for a welcome break from the noise and bustle of Mexico City. We wanted to learn about the history and geography of this peaceful region within an easy drive from the city center; the warm and personable Carolina did not disappoint. She delivered an experience we couldn’t have discovered on our own or on a party boat.
We really love that you enjoyed this tour. Thanks a lot for your words and that's right, this is something different than the party boats, thanks for notice this.
The whole trip was super nutty. We loved seeing the Jacks and learning about them. We had the pleasure of meeting kitten Richard and dog Chocolate, who were super friendly. We learned a lot from the history of Xochimilco and the community there. ¡10/10! We recommend this tour for anyone.
Hola. Gracias por tu recomendación. Nos encanta saber que pasaron un día increíble y que conocieran a parte del "staff", Richard es el más importante. Esperamos verlos nuevamente 😃
We had a wonderful time with Carolina; she was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and accomodating. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to learn about the history, ecology and communities in this area. We would hoghly recommend this tour for people who are interested in a quiet, relaxing and beautiful experience.
Thanks a lot for the details, as you said this is a relaxing tour to scape for a while from the beautiful and chaotic city.
Our tour guide was excellent - friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable - and the area that we visited was fascinating and very worthwhile. A completely different aspect of Mexico City, and difficult to believe it is within the city limits, but it is.
We had a great comfortable and relaxing visit to the canals and got to eat great local food and see a cathedral as well as live axolotls! Carolina was an excellent host, detailing what and why about what we saw. The natural beauty and quiet on the canals was just wonderful. We will do this again.
We had a wonderful time on this trip. Our guide, Caro (Carolina) was great. Very friendly, her English was really good & she showed us many interesting things in Xochimilco. The food at the chinampa was excellent & everyone from the driver to the boatman to the axlotl expert were so welcoming & kind! Highly recommend this tour.
