Maria Pia-Brücke ist eine Eisenbahninfrastruktur, die den Fluss Douro überquert und Porto und Vila Nova de Gaia verbindet. Die von Gustave Eiffel entworfene Brücke war einst die größte Eisenbogenbrücke der Welt und gilt als eines seiner größten Meisterwerke.
Der Ponte Dom Luís I ist ein wahres Wahrzeichen der Stadt Porto und ein Wunderwerk der Ingenieurskunst des 19. Jahrhunderts. Die Brücke Dom Luís I überspannt den Fluss Douro zwischen Porto am Nordufer und Vila Nova de Gaia am Südufer.
Die Arrábida-Brücke ist eine Bogenbrücke, die den Fluss Douro überquert und Porto und Vila Nova de Gaia verbindet. Sie wurde 1963 als Reaktion auf den zunehmenden Verkehrsfluss und den Bedarf an alternativen Verbindungen zu den alten Brücken gebaut. Zum Zeitpunkt ihres Baus verfügte die Brücke über den größten Stahlbetonbogen aller Brücken der Welt.
Die São-João-Brücke wurde als Ersatz für die D.-Maria-Pia-Brücke gebaut, eine weitere ikonische Brücke in Porto. Die São-João-Brücke ist zu einem Wahrzeichen der Skyline von Porto und einer wichtigen Verkehrsverbindung zwischen Porto und Vila Nova de Gaia geworden. Interessanterweise entdeckten Archäologen während des Baus der Brücke die Überreste einer römischen Straße und einer mittelalterlichen Werft auf dem Gelände, was wertvolle Informationen über die Geschichte der Region lieferte.
Die Freixo-Brücke wurde im September 1995 eingeweiht und ist eine Straßenbrücke, die Vila Nova de Gaia über den Fluss Douro mit Porto verbindet. Von allen Brücken, die Porto mit Vila Nova de Gaia verbinden, ist die Ponte do Freixo diejenige, die am weitesten flussaufwärts vom Fluss Douro liegt.
Die Infante-Dom-Henrique-Brücke, auch bekannt als Infante-Brücke, ist eine Straßenbrücke, die Vila Nova de Gaia über den Fluss Douro in Portugal mit Porto verbindet. Benannt zu Ehren des Infanten Dom Henrique (er war der Hauptförderer der portugiesischen Expansion, der sogenannten „Portugiesischen Entdeckungen“). Er wurde in Porto geboren und ist die neueste Brücke, die Porto und Gaia verbindet.

We were not able to redeem the booking voucher for tickets because the tour office closed early. The booking stated that the voucher could be redeemed for any cruise on our booking date. It also stated that the last cruise on the river was at 8:30 pm. We attempted to redeem the voucher at 6 pm, and the tour office was closed. We should receive a full refund because it was not disclosed that vouchers must be redeemed before 6 pm. We are very disappointed and would not recommend Viatour with this tour company.
Booked a couple of hours before using the ticket through Viator. Instructions to make our way to Ribeira. and a choice of two operators to take our ticket to, either Douro Acima or Tomaz do Douro. We chose the first but it was just the first one we came to. Showed our ticket and were told to come back in half an hour and where to wait and we were booked on the next sailing cruise. No hassle, simple to use. Boat was great, no need for headphones, six bridge info was narrated over the speaker in two languages. Clear info on the bridges but not too much to overwhelm. All in all a great boat ride. It is also cheaper to book in advance rather than at the quay side.

The boat itself was pleasant but finding check in was remarkably difficult. The address given via Tripadvisor led randomly to a locked gate on a back street with a QR code that led to a spam website. There was thankfully a map that directed to the correct location on the quay. When we finally found the booth on the quay we were given a paper ticket but still had to produce our electronic one as well. Overall unnecessarily complicated. Whilst we saw the bridges and the view of Porto was delightful the actual tour was not good as the (pre-recorded) audio could barely be heard. Disappointing.
The trip is spectacular, the crew is super friendly and attentive. We recommend 100%, we will definitely repeat.
Enjoy views of Porto from the river. You can see all the bridges with their diverse structures from this vantage point. A quick but worth it ride.

superb experience good communication and support
A lovely, simple way to see Porto and its six iconic bridges from the water. Great value for money, especially if you’re looking for a shorter cruise rather than spending hours on a boat. Think of it more like a ferry experience shared with other passengers than a luxury cruise. That said, everyone gets a seat with a good view, making it a relaxing and enjoyable way to experience the city from the river. I would say this trip is kid friendly and appears to be suitable for people with accessibility issues.
Beautiful river cruise! Nothing extra about it except for the amazing views of both sides of the river. Nice perspective to see the wine companies but also the amazing landscape of Porto!
