Das Quadriportico dei Teatri, auch Kaserne der Gladiatoren genannt, ist ein Bauwerk aus römischer Zeit, das beim Ausbruch des Vesuvs im Jahr 79 v. Chr. verschüttet und nach den archäologischen Ausgrabungen des antiken Pompeji wiederentdeckt wurde: Ursprünglich als Foyer genutzt, wurde es später in eine Kaserne für Gladiatorenkämpfe umgewandelt.
Das Teatro Grande ist ein römisches Theater, das beim Ausbruch des Vesuvs im Jahr 79 n. Chr. verschüttet und nach den archäologischen Ausgrabungen des antiken Pompeji wiederentdeckt wurde: Im Inneren wurden Komödien, Mimen und Pantomimen sowie die Atellane aufgeführt.
Das Thermopolium (abgeleitet vom griechischen θερμοπώλιον und im Italienischen termopolio genannt, gebildet aus den Wörtern thermòs, „heiß“, und pōlèō, „ich verkaufe“) war ein Ort der Erfrischung im antiken Rom, an dem man heiße Getränke und manchmal sogar Fertiggerichte kaufen und konsumieren konnte.
Das Haus der Ceii ist ein Haus aus der römischen Zeit, das beim Ausbruch des Vesuvs im Jahr 79 v. Chr. verschüttet und nach den archäologischen Ausgrabungen des antiken Pompeji wiederentdeckt wurde: Es wird auch als Haus der Jagd, Haus der Fabia und des Tyrannen oder Haus der Königin Helena bezeichnet und verdankt seinen Namen der Familie, die dort lebte, den Ceii.
Die Stabianischen Thermen sind ein römischer Thermenkomplex, der beim Ausbruch des Vesuvs im Jahr 79 n. Chr. verschüttet und nach den archäologischen Ausgrabungen des antiken Pompeji wiederentdeckt wurde: Von ihrer Art ist sie das älteste Gebäude der Stadt.
Während der gesamten römischen Ära waren Bordelle (vom lateinischen lupa = Prostituierte) Orte, die der Prostitution gewidmet waren, oder besser gesagt, tatsächliche Bordelle. Einige sind noch heute in den Ruinen des antiken Pompeji zu sehen.
Das Forum von Pompeji ist ein Forum aus römischer Zeit, das durch den Ausbruch des Vesuvs im Jahr 79 n. Chr. verschüttet und nach archäologischen Ausgrabungen des antiken Pompeji wiederentdeckt wurde. Das Bauwerk war der Hauptplatz der Stadt und repräsentierte das politische, wirtschaftliche und religiöse Zentrum, wo Demonstrationen, Handelsverhandlungen und Debatten stattfanden; es ist eines der am besten erhaltenen seiner Art in antiken italienischen Städten.

A visit of the extraordinary Pompeii with a really excellent guide, Anna, who taught us a lot during these good 2 hours spent together and, with a smile and kindness. We thought the visit would only last 2 hours but we can stay on the site then as long as we like. Possibility of drinking free of charge thanks to the many drinking water fountains and dining on site. We were impressed by the ingenuity of the Romans in their construction systems at that time! In short a visit not to be missed (and with Anna our guide in French) it is even better!

The tour was misleading, in that they said it was a “tour with an archaeologist” which it clearly wasn’t. The female tour guide knew some details but it certainly wasn’t archaeological detail. The tour was also advertised for a 2 hour duration but the actual tour was just over an hour.

If going in the summer, prepare for heat. Any time of year, prepare to be amazed. Informative tour with a well informed guide.
tour is falsely advertised as being in spanish but the guide was pretending to know how to speak the language. when i reached out for a refund, travelcampania was rude and made things up to justify not refunding. guide asked where we were visiting from (brazil) but we were all native spanish speakers from LATIN AMERICA who recently moved to brazil a month ago. They also claimed that we asked the guide to speak portuguese which is completely false. we booked a tour in spanish and wanted spanish. not some horrible attempt with mainly italian. If i wanted a different language, i wouldve booked it.

The site and the history was amazing . Of course it must be a stop on your to do list while in Italy . We drove from Rome and it actually wasn’t a bad ride if you are already driving while in Italy . Will cost about $40 in tolls . The guide and tour itself I could have done without. He did give some important information but left me with more questions than answers and he didn’t have that friendly personality to feel I could ask question . Also as any tour goes , they dish you around. The one thing that annoyed me the most was that when you got to the one mummified person which let’s face it , is the main attraction not only were we fighting another group in there but that guide was not speaking english and our guide just let her talk and then he was like “ let’s move on” I was no way leaving that area till I saw what I came to see . I mean at the end of the tour , he didn’t even wait around for possible tips . I went to the bathroom and poof , he was gone : I will say that we were 5 minutes late getting there due to weather and traffic conditions and although not happy about it , he did wait . Again, I sometimes think just doing the audio tours and skip the line ( which really wasn’t needed for this site ) is your better option . We are the type of tourist that likes to browse and see what we want and skip what we do not .

The guide was very friendly and she shared with us a lot of information. In two hours we were able to learn a lot about the history, culture and life of Pompeii people and tragedy.

We look back on our visit to Pompeii in March 24 as a highlight of our journey to Italy. The ruins were more interesting than the Coliseum in Rome because of our wonderful guide Leillo. He explained the reasons for each part of the tour with intelligence, wit and dramatic flare. "we don't talk politics on this tour " he warned us. That in itself was a blessing . Pompeii was quite an intricate and futuristic city before Vesuvius erupted, however it was spared molten lava and volcanic meltdown. The result enabled us to see well preserved homes, wall drawings, street stands ans evn an ancient red light district. We never knew that Pink Floyd performed there in the early 1970's either . If you do make the trip hire Leillo and also check out the Bosco De ' Medici winery and great restaurant with wine tastings.
