Pompeji ist unbestreitbar die wichtigste archäologische Stätte der Welt. Eine ganze Stadt, perfekt erhalten, genau wie im Jahr 79 n. Chr., als ein gewaltiger Ausbruch des nahe gelegenen Vulkans Vesuv sie unter einer tiefen Schicht aus Asche und Lapilli begrub. Pompeji unterscheidet sich sehr von allen anderen archäologischen Stätten der Welt. Es gibt antike Ruinen in Rom, Griechenland, Ägypten, Mittelamerika und an anderen wunderbaren Orten auf dem Planeten, aber in keinem dieser Orte außer in Pompeji können Sie noch die ursprünglichen antiken Straßen hinuntergehen und finden, dass sie so lebhaft sind wie damals. Sie können in denselben Häusern spazieren gehen, in denen Menschen gelebt haben, in denselben Tempeln, in denen sie gebetet haben, und an denselben Orten sein, an denen sie gearbeitet und Spaß hatten. Sie können sogar noch die Spuren ihrer Kutschen auf der Straßenoberfläche sehen; die Rohre, in die das Trinkwasser lief; und nicht zuletzt die „versteinerten“ Körper der Opfer des Ausbruchs.

Wir werden die wichtigsten öffentlichen Gebäude (Theater, Tempel, Thermalbäder und mehr) besuchen und Ihre Aufmerksamkeit auf einige der traditionellsten römischen Geschäfte lenken, wie das Thermopolia - Vorläufer der modernen Fastfood-Restaurants - und das Pistrinum - das römische Äquivalent von eine Bäckerei. Die Stadt Pompeji ist auch für die Pracht ihrer Residenzen bekannt, deren Namen in der ganzen Welt bekannt sind: das Haus von Menander, das Haus des Fauns, das Haus der Vettii, das Haus von Caecilius Iucundus und viele mehr mehr. Having booked previously we booked the POMPEII trip and once again received a fantastic tour with Francesco, a different tour guide, but again a fantastic overview of the POMPEII site and the Vesuvius eruption. Personally for me the small group tour or in this case we were lucky to have a private tour is essential, the knowledge and more importantly where to go is a must have - the site is massive and technically you could wander around looking at a load of "old bricks" and get lost - the guided tour therefore a must IMO and with this tour company you will get an excellent tour of the sites.

It was a bit disappointed that the tour operator texted me 2 days before the tour predict no other participants for our tour and advised us to switch to a private tour with another additional payment of $60. Including requirement to buy our own entry truckers, it costed us much more than planned to visited the attraction “Pompeii Ruins”.
Dear visitor, it’s specified in the tour description that the tour is canceled if the minimum number of participants has not been met as well as it specified that the entry tickets are not included. We texted you only 2 days before the tour to wait as much as possible for new bookings, and we believe that 2 days are long enough to let you arrange the tour with a different tour operator if our tour is canceled. Moreover, we proposed a solution and you accepted, a full refund would have been much easier and cheaper for us and, honestly, it's now sad to hear that this solution didn't make you happy. We apologize if you don't consider your experience with us worthy of a 5-star review, but we are sure it’s due to misunderstanding.
Francesco did a wonderful job. He made an amazing place even more interesting with his explanations of the sights. He had an informed answer for every question we had. Not to mention, he gave us great advice about other places to visit in the area. I will choose his services every time I bring a group to the area.
