Diese ganztägige Tour zu den Weltkulturerbestätten Pompeji und Herculaneum beginnt mit der Abholung in Neapel und der Fahrt mit dem Bus zu den Ruinen von Pompeji. Während dieses Teils der Exkursion wird ein Reiseleiter im Bus anwesend sein. Nach Ihrer Ankunft in Pompeji werden Sie die Ruinen etwa zwei Stunden lang erkunden. Entdecken Sie die Traditionen und den Alltag der Bewohner des antiken Pompeji. Sie werden das große Theater, die Nekropole, die Thermen und einige der beeindruckenden Häuser sehen, die den reichsten Einwohnern gehörten. Genießen Sie ein im Preis inbegriffenes leichtes Mittagessen in einem lokalen Restaurant. Nach dem Mittagessen fahren Sie nach Herculaneum, wo Sie die Ruinen auf eigene Faust erkunden können. Hier lässt sich das Alltagsleben der Bevölkerung noch detaillierter beobachten als in Pompeji, da der Schlamm und die vulkanischen Ablagerungen, die die Stadt bedeckten, die Gebäude und Fundstücke von Herculaneum erhalten haben.

Nach der letzten Abholung fahren wir vom Stadtzentrum Neapels zum Archäologischen Park von Pompeji
Zum Zeitpunkt des verheerenden Vulkanausbruchs zählte Pompeji etwa 11.000 Einwohner, während Herculaneum etwa 5.000 Einwohner hatte. In diesen Städten besaßen zahlreiche Kaiser und Adlige ihre Ferienvillen. Eines Tages, im Jahr 79 n. Chr., bedeckten mehrere Meter Asche innerhalb weniger Stunden das gesamte Gebiet. Jahrhunderte später, im Jahr 1748, begannen unter der Herrschaft der Bourbonen die Ausgrabungsarbeiten. Die Entdeckung wurde mit Begeisterung aufgenommen, da sie dem Königreich großen Reichtum bescherte und die neoklassizistische Bewegung in Europa inspirierte. Heute gehören die Ruinen von Pompeji zu den meistbesuchten archäologischen Stätten der Welt, während Herculaneum vor allem wegen seiner „Villa dei Papiri“ bekannt ist, in der sich eine Sammlung von über 1800 Papyri befindet. Besichtigung der Ausgrabungsstätte (ca. 2 Stunden) und, sofern es die Zeit erlaubt, auch einer Manufaktur für Korallen- und Kameenarbeiten, um den Herstellungsprozess unter der Leitung erfahrener Handwerker zu bewundern
Mittagspause
Nach dem Mittagessen in einem Restaurant vor Ort. Am Nachmittag fahren Sie zu den Ruinen von Herculaneum.
Nach dem Besuch in Herculaneum kehren Sie an derselben Haltestelle wie am Morgen nach Neapel zurück.

This day was a good experience that we could recommend to you. The visit to Pompeii with our French-speaking guide was great (group of approx. 25 people), although 2 hours only allows you to visit a small part of the city, the locations were well chosen. Despite the lack of a French-speaking guide on-site at Herculaneum, our organizer guide Christianno was top-notch and did his best to find the solution that would suit us best! The only downside of the day: the meal. At the restaurant only 3 dish choices (margherita, schnitzel and frozen fries or pasta with tomato sauce) no choice for the appetizer or dessert, it's salad and vanilla ice cream. Few choices but it does the trick for a snack.

The tour was too slow. First of all, they changed our time. Later we understood why. From one group in English and other in Spanish, they made just one. The explanations from guides were too slow, and they repeated all twice, in Spanish and in English. This is a torture under this sun and heat. It was a moment I decided to go by myself and it was the best idea. Maria, the old lady in Ercolano, missed many points. My family stayed with her and they missed the best parts. I could see more things because I did it by myself. Also, it was a french family that had nothing in french. I had to help them with the translation. At the end they went also by theirselves. A shame. I will not recommend at all this tour.
