It was wonderful that we had cooking class at Ali's house. It was very good experience to see Uzbekistan house, how they live. We met Ali's family; they are all very nice and welcome us. Our cooking class took many hours, so we had a great conversation that we exchanged. After Plov done, we ate together also his mom cooked soup that was great together. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We hope to welcome you back to Uzbekistan again soon. 🙏
This tour was one of our favourite tours during our trip to Uzbekistan. The tour started at the bazaar, where Ali showed us around while buying some ingredients for the plov. Then his brother drove us to his home, which is perhaps 10 minutes from the city centre. He and his family had prepared some snacks, we started cooking the plov, and we had nice chats about Uzbekistan, its culture and daily life. Ali speaks good English and made us feel very welcome in his home. The food was delicious too!

Dear Michel and Cally, Thank you so much for your kind review! It was a real pleasure to welcome you into our home and share a taste of Uzbek hospitality. I’m glad you enjoyed the food, the conversations, and the time together. You will always be welcome back — next time we’ll cook and enjoy even more traditional dishes! Warm regards, Ali
Highly recommend this fantastic experience with Ali. We started with a visit to the bazaar where he explained the various ingredients, as well as the unique regional differences and preferences. From there, we were invited to a private home, where we had a chance to not only learn how to make the national dish of plov, but more about the culture, lifestyle, and customs of Uzbekistan. I appreciate how knowledgeable, open, informative and friendly Ali is. After we finished making plov, Ali and his family put out an incredibly delicious spread of food and beverages for our Uzbek meal. This visit is definitely a highlight of my time in Uzbekistan!
Dear Monica, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I’m delighted to hear that you enjoyed the visit to the bazaar, the plov cooking experience, and learning more about Uzbek culture. Your kind words about my family and me mean a lot. We always try to make our guests feel at home, and I’m happy this experience became a highlight of your time in Uzbekistan. You are always welcome back — and next time, we’ll cook something new together! Warm regards, Ali
Wow! What an absolutely amazing immersive experience with Ali and his family. Ali picked me up from my hotel and we went to the market and then to his family home where we talked and talked and made plov and enjoyed it. His family were so welcoming and loved his sister practicing her English. This is really your chance to get to know Uzbek people. Ali will talk about anything! His English is impeccable. This is likely the highlight experience of all my time in Uzbekistan.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It was a real pleasure to spend time with you and share not just our food, but also stories and laughs. I'm especially happy to hear you felt welcomed by my family — they always enjoy meeting new people! I'm honored this experience was a highlight of your time in Uzbekistan. You're always welcome back — our door is open! By the way, you are invited to my wedding, so I hope to see you again soon ))
My two friends and I had a fantastic cooking experience with Ali! He was an amazing and intelligent guy. We learned more about Uzbekistan’s culture and history, with exciting conversations about the differences between his and our (Danish) cults as we laughed. It also helped that Ali speaks fluent English. The food was great and I will definitely make plow at home. This experience can definitely be recommended!
Thank you for such a thoughtful review! Hosting you and your friends was an absolute pleasure. I'm so happy you enjoyed the Plov and found our cultural exchange meaningful — it’s moments like these that make this experience so rewarding. Knowing that you'll be cooking plov back in Denmark truly means a lot. You're always welcome back to my home in Uzbekistan anytime!
