Plan to bring a jacket in the summer. The covered wagon company has lots of blankets for the riders. Our family all enjoyed the ride fun and the dinner. We were very happy that we did the covered wagon ride and dinner activity.
It was amazing and fantastic. Even though it was raining, and cold, the team made it very comfortable for all of us in the wagon. Lisa and Will were great. The best part was narration throughout the trip. And the food and the staff was great!
So much fun and such an excellent experience. Guides were wonderful and the food was great. The horses that pulled the wagon were beautiful and very well trained. It was truly a great way to spend the afternoon in Banff.
If you want to be informed about the horses, the local area, the wildlife, the nature, the history, then this is definitely for you if you’re not interested in any of that it could just be a 3 hours in a wagon with some food on the way. Also make use of the bathroom facilities at check in if you can’t old it for three hours and you are fussy about were you go as this is ment to be a authentic experience not a 5 star show. We had a great time Great informative staff Good food Chatting to others on wagon and around the table.
This excursion was fantastic. Beautiful scenery, great food and most importantly the wagon crew were the best. So friendly and informative. Would highly recommend this tour.
Thanks to Erin, Kate, and of course, Spike and George, the beloved horses, we had a wonderful day out in the Covered Wagon. We were fortunate to have had a beautiful trip along the Bow River. Along the way, we learned from Erin and Kate about the strengths and complexities of horses in general, as well as the impressive eccentricities of Spike and George. Our cookout lunch offered by Joe was delicious, with custom-cooked steaks. We sat next to Aussie Loughlan and had a fun and fascinating conversation about his travels and work with the horses and Covered Wagons. We even tried lassoing, albeit not successfully... Highly recommended!
We had a fabulous time. Weather was chilly but they were well prepared with blankets to keep us cozy and hot drinks on arrival. The dinner was excellent, steaks cooked to perfection. Veggie option was superb. Our Aussie tour guide was so versed in the area. She shared both work and personal stories of great interest. Highly recommend this outing. It was fun to try some of the "cowboy tricks" at the campsite. Thank you
The guides, Sydney and Zoe, were knowledgeable and interesting. The horses, George and Spike (I think) were majestic. And the views were spectacular!
WONDERFUL!!! Do not miss this experience! Might have been one of the best experiences we had in Banff. Riding on a chuck wagon to eat a true "cowboy" dinner was amazing. The guides Zoe and Kate did a great job of sharing stories of the area. Tony and Luke, the Belgium horses, were beautiful and friendly. The food was delicious. Steak, Cowboy beans, Maple cole slaw, corn bread, and roasted potatoes. The cooks did a great food. Took about three hours, unless you have the experience we did. Coming back to the stables we encounter rain and wind. The wind blew down about 12 trees that blocked the trail back. The Banff Trail Riders came out with chainsaws and clearly the path for us to return. The staff was friendly. Wasn't crowded on the chuck wagon. Got to meet some new people. Even worked on my lassoing skills. This is worth the money and time. Bring the family and enjoy the back country of the Bow Valley. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this experience. We would do it again!
This is such a unique experience. Not only do you get to ride in a covered wagon, but you get to see areas you likely wouldn't otherwise and the added benefit of two very knowledgeable guides. My boyfriend doesn't care much for horses and I am a horse lover, so this was a perfect compromise. They had blankets available in the wagon and once you arrive, there is a fire and warm & cool beverages. The food was cooked to order and was very good. They gave details about how they care for the horses and it is obvious that they are well loved. I am going to go back with my daughter to do the 3-Day Back Country ride.
