My friend and I booked through an individual named Zulu. I had gone on the same game drive, booked online, the previous weekend for half the price. Zulu charged us $100 USD, and I did the game drive the previous week for $52 USD. I asked him why there was a price difference, and he told us that we would get more time on the ground in the National Park. This did not happen. We paid for a 3-hour game drive and barely got 1.5 hours in the park. He promised us that this experience would be different and better, which is why he charged us double the price. Another thing I found odd was that we had originally scheduled our game drive for 7:30 am, but he then told us we had to go at 3 pm. He said we would get to see the sunset with the Rhinos, but we were out of the park before sunset. I personally messaged Zulu asking him if he could reconcile the situation because I was very unsatisfied with my experience, and he blew me off.
Our afternoon safari was brilliant ! Zulu picked us up exactly on time from our hotel and took us a short drive to join the 4 wheel drive vehicle. Our guide Gift was exceptional. The best guide of all our safaris. Such detail, so interesting, so knowledgeable. The highlight of our game drive was seeing the endangered white rhinos, we feel very privileged to have had this fabulous experience. Even if you’ve done safaris elsewhere on your holiday, I’d definitely recommend joining Gift for an entertaining, educational and unforgettable afternoon. Tips - take a very warm jumper with you - wear long trousers and closed in shoes - take some dollars for tips for the rangers

This tour was just amazing! The national park is rather small but we still managed to see a giraffe, zebras, elephants and other animals. But the most amazing part (and perhaps the most amazing part of my stay in Zambia) was the walking safari to see the Rhinos. The rangers are doing a great job in protecting them and the Rhinos trust them which means that we managed to get very close to them. What amazing animals! My guide gift was the best!! I learned so much! Very recommended!!!
Thank you for your amazing review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the tour and had the opportunity to see such incredible wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, and elephants. The walking safari to see the rhinos truly is a highlight, and it’s wonderful to know that our rangers are making a positive impact in their protection. We’re glad you found your guide to be knowledgeable and engaging. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable experience in Zambia!
It was my first time to Livingstone and I had a fantastic time with African Joined Tours. I was greeted at the airport by Mr Zulu and his team and had a comfortable transfer to my hotel. The Game Drive and Walking Safari of Mosi-o-Tunya National Park was simply amazing. Our guide Gift was very professional and well versed in the facts about the flora and fauna of the park. It was a fun, exciting and enlightening experience and we felt safe every step of the way. I will definitely use African Joined Tours again for my next visit. Mr Zulu and his team are fitting ambassadors of such a beautiful country!!!
Thank you so much for such wonderful remarks. African Joined Tours and Safaris is what it is today because of wonderful and supportive people like you . You are highly appreciated. Thank you.
Really enjoyed our game drive and walking safari to see rhinos with Gift. He was super nice and knew tons about the animals, plants, and birds we encountered. It seemed like every turn he knew something interesting to show us. And the experience with rhinos was very special. We also had a tour of the Livingstone museum and it was very interesting. Recommend both.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the game drive and walking safari with Gift. His passion for wildlife, plants, and birds truly enhances the experience, and we're glad you found the rhino encounter special. It's also wonderful to know that you appreciated the Livingstone Museum tour. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we look forward to welcoming you back for more adventures in the future!
Was New Years Day and they made a special tour just for me! My guide ‘Gift’ was superb and he was so knowledgable. Literally had the whole park to ourselves. Was incredibly experienced. Saw White Rhinos, Giraffe, Impala, Crocodile, Hippos, Zebras, many different types of birds plus more... would highly recommend.
Thank you for the review. it was marvelous having you guys around and we hope to see you again.
Although we saw animals during the drive and our guide, Gift was knowledgeable, I don't recommend doing your rhino walk with this company. Most people are doing this activity primarily to see the rhinos. The rhinos are visible from where the vehicle parks, so there is virtually no walking at all. The men that guard the rhinos have given the animals grass to eat which they have bought from a local farmer. It's more of a zoo experience really. 4 young rhinos are standing in a group, heads down, eating purchased food. They don't look up, the lighting is bad, they're so close you can barely distinguish one from another.
We sincerely regret that you never had a wonderful moment in the park which brings us no delight. We aim at bringing out and exposing our clients to great and exciting exploits. The Rhino Walking Safari and the walking aspect is determined by the location and proximity of the place at which the rhinos are at that day. Some other days the walk-able distance is longer. The park is small and highly patronized and agreeable the characteristics of animals adjust to the habitual encounter with human beings but categorically this atmosphere is purely natural and all efforts are galvanized to keep it so. We also regret that we can not influence the behaviour of the rhino since they are wild animals and our job is to make our clients see them at their natural habitation . However animals behaviour is wholly outside our prerogative and animals behave at their own volition and any attempt to influence their behaviour is tantamount to infringement and their reaction thereof can be disastrous. We aim to and endevour to help client capture great moments while also respecting the animals in their space for all our safety. We will always strive to give our clients their money worth and more.
The driver was informed, friendly and helpful. He gave a lot of information from, how specific deer act, which tree was which, to ants and elephant poo, through to all sorts of details on the much larger beasts and their activities. We got to see baboons, elephants, impala, wildebeest, wart hog, ostriches, monkeys, vultures, giraffe, zebra and then.....wild rhinos and bub! It was a great trip in the early morning and a wonderful way to start the 10 days we spent in Zambia. Highly recommended. Graeme and Dini
