Pidurangala Sunset oder Sunrise Tour mit Tuk-Tuk oder Jeep

Our guide Sahan was cheerful, kind and helpful on the climb which has lots of very steep steps and some climbing over and through large boulders with small gaps. The view at the top was amazing, well worth it. We went at sunset which was a very busy time and there were long queues and waits to get through the narrow and difficult parts, on the way up and back down. It was dark as we climbed back down, there are a few lights on the path and Sahan used his phone torch to light the way. He made us feel safe. A bit annoyingly on Viator it let us book the pick up from our hotel, but the tour company messaged the day before to say it was 2000 rupees to pick us up from there as it was outside the free pick up area. It would have been good to know this when we booked.

Nice experience, we really enjoyed the view and the monkeys 🐒 It was good to be there early in the morning, really recommended 👍

I chose this “tour” cause I didn’t want to do the hike alone in the dark. In the description of the “tour” it says: “We'll take you to the top of Pidurangala Rock….But that's not all! Our friendly guide will join you and share fascinating stories about the historical background of Pidurangala….We'll head to a stunning lake that offers a perfect viewpoint of both Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rock” this is a joke!! The driver picked me up in a safari car, not a tuk tuk, he was parking the car and I was waiting for him cause he said he was coming. Waited 20 min and just started walking because I didn’t want to miss the sunrise. I texted the company and they said the driver usually doesn’t go on the hike with the person… that’s literally why I booked this tour! After some back and forward the driver met me at the end of the hike to walk the last bit but I might as well could’ve done it alone… 25 dollars just for transport is a scam! Do yourself a favor and don’t book with this company, find yourself a better one

Don’t go with this company cause it’s just false advertisment! I booked a “Pidurangala Sunset or Sunrise Tour by Tuk-Tuk” via viator thinking I would be picked up and dropped off and the driver/guide would climb with me to the top. My guide was brilliant helped me up and kept me safe thank you . Reliable and knew a short cut coming down . I felt very safe as a solo female

The sunrise from the top of Pidurangala Rock was stunning, and the view of Sigiriya Rock in the morning light was unforgettable. The tuk-tuk arrived on time despite the early hour, and the driver also took me to a nearby stupa and a scenic wetland with a great view of Sigiriya.
