Petra-Landausflug vom Hafen von Aqaba

It was fine except that lunch was supposed to be included and we didn't get any. The guide was very knowledgeable and great. The price is too expensive. We also had a horseback ride that didn't take place.

We had a lovely visit with a small group to Petra with the help of JHT. Despite initial concerns with a limited cruise day in Aqaba, Andrea's professional coordination put our worries to rest with timely and patient responses while our guide Nabil (apologies for any misidentification!) and drivers provided safe, effective, and informative guidance/transport for the day. With the distance and size of Petra, I imagine that being a tour guide is a big ask - there's so much ground to cover and so much to convey. However, we were very pleased with the amount of knowledge on hand - Nabil gamely replied to our queries about Jordan and Petra on the drive and was very purposeful in sharing spades of information about the features and history that would have been lost on us otherwise. Explanations were ready and thorough; we never felt like we were short on answers. As a small group, we also felt like there was plenty of time to enjoy the wonder of Petra post-tour. We got back to the cruise ship in smooth and very comfortable fashion, and all agreed that it had been a very singular experience. Thanks very much, JHT, for making this memorable day come together!

Bring WATER!!! On May 5 it was 104 degrees. If you walk to the amphitheater only it will be about a 4 mile walk return. Further if you venture further which I would strongly advise you to do it will be even longer. And the way back up and out is uphill. It’s a killer. The horses and buggies are a bumpy alternative but it cuts down at least 1 + mile each way. The price seems to vary depending on temperature and number of tourists. No matter. This place is stunning and a gift if you can manage to get here. I do not regret almost passing out from dehydration. I would do it again but with more WATER and maybe an overnight stay.

The opportunity to visit Petra was one of the main reasons I took the cruise I was on. It was an amazing experience and one that will stay with me for a life time. This tour organized through Jordon Horizon Tours was perfect for our group. Our group leader raved about the assistance and help she received from Andrea in setting up the tour. Our group was set up to be a slow group to better meet the needs of some members who had some mobility issues. The guide, Assem, and driver, Nahia both went out of their way to meet our needs. Assem did an excellent job of providing us with information, moving us around etc. Saqher was our guide when in Petra and he also did a very good job and paid excellent attention to those in our group who were slower and who periodically needed some attention. I strongly recommend this tour and company.

We stayed overnight with the Aida Prima in Aqaba. The first day we were in Wadi Rum and the second day we were picked up by the taxi at half past six in the morning. Both days we had the same driver. The taxi driver spoke very good English and answered many questions on the way to Petra. The taxi even had free wifi on board. In Petra we got a cell phone from the driver so we could call him as soon as we were done with our sightseeing tour. So no one had to wait for the other. The organization worked perfectly. I'd love to go again.
