Petrópolis ist im Winter das beliebteste Reiseziel von Petrópolis und verbindet den Charme von Gebäuden aus der Kaiserzeit mit der Kälte der Berge und der Qualität der Infrastruktur. Die Stadt Petrópolis, auch als "Kaiserstadt" bekannt, weil sie im Sommer die Zuflucht der portugiesischen Kaiserfamilie war, ist eine historische Stadt mit einem wunderschönen architektonischen Ensemble mit Gebäuden wie der Kathedrale von Petrópolis, dem Kaisermuseum, wo es die Residenz der kaiserlichen Familie und die Quitandinha Palace war, das größte Hotel mit Casino in Lateinamerika in den 1940er Jahren war. Sie werden auch die Möglichkeit haben , die Heimat von Santos Dumont zu besuchen, der ein Luftfahrtpionier war. Ein etwa 10-minütiger Fotostopp im Außenbereich. Der legendäre Quitandinha-Palast beeindruckt mit seiner Rokoko-Architektur im Hollywood-Stil. Dieses ehemalige Luxushotel-Casino beherbergte im Laufe seiner Geschichte bedeutende Persönlichkeiten, darunter auch Walt Disney. Der Besuch findet ausschließlich im Freien statt.
Es ist auch als Kaiserpalast bekannt und ein historisch-thematisches Museum im historischen Zentrum der Stadt Petrópolis. Die Sammlung ist in folgende Bereiche unterteilt: Esszimmer, Musikzimmer, Staatssaal, Büro Dom Pedro II, Prinzessinnenzimmer und Besuchsraum der Kaiserin.
Die Kathedrale von Petrópolis ist dem Schutzpatron Brasiliens gewidmet und eines der wichtigsten neugotischen Bauwerke des Landes. Diese Kirche wurde Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts entworfen und zeichnet sich durch die Schönheit ihrer Fassade und ihrer unzähligen überarbeiteten Buntglasfenster aus.
Machen Sie einen Zwischenstopp von etwa 25 Minuten. Entdecken Sie „A Encantada“, Santos Dumonts Sommerresidenz, voller Details, die seine Kreativität und seinen Erfindergeist widerspiegeln. Zu den interessanten Besonderheiten zählen die markante Außentreppe, die so konzipiert wurde, dass man sie mit dem rechten Bein beginnt zu besteigen, und das Warmwassersystem des Hauses, eine für die damalige Zeit sehr fortschrittliche Lösung. Der Eintritt ins Museum ist optional und nicht im Eintrittspreis enthalten.
Der 1884 eingeweihte Palácio de Cristal war ein Geschenk von Conde d'Eu an Prinzessin Isabel, um als Gewächshaus genutzt zu werden, damit sie ihr Gemüse anbauen konnte. Heutzutage beherbergt das Schloss mehrere regionale Messen und um ihn herum befindet sich das berühmte Bauernfest, das an den letzten Wochenenden im Juni stattfindet.

Lots of time for shopping in my opinion including being dropped at the mall for 45 minutes. The same amount of time allocated for the Imperial Museum. There was also a chocolate store and a chocolate cafe. Would have much preferred it to have been focused on historic parts.

The stop at the traditional Rua Teresa is also part of the planned route, offering a different aspect of the city, but it takes place toward the end of the tour. I was lucky enough to meet a great guide, Aldo. I was the only French out of a group of 20 people, and he made the effort to translate everything into French, I really enjoyed it. The tour itself was very interesting, I advise
2h in Rio in bus p/ pick up passengers. Running on a visit to the Imperial Museum. Catedral fechada. Very bad!!!
The friendly and knowledgeable guide (sorry I forget his name) took us from Copacabana to the Imperial Palace museum, the cathedral, the "crystal palace", the house of aviator Santos-Dumont and various places for refreshments. It was very interesting. It could be slightly improved by making it a shorter trip with fewer refreshments.
Petropolis is a beautiful historic city, with the Imperial Museum that demonstrates how Brazil's royal family discovered the city and how Petropolis was the first city that abolished slavery in the country. The "Praca de Don Pedro" is also a beautiful plaza with many shops. The center of Petropolis also have "Rua Teresa" which is a popular street for shopping needs. The city also has a newly constructed mall with 3 stories and an incredible variety of stores.
A beautiful mountain town that is definitely worth a visit. Our guide also tried to send us all the information in English. We already knew a lot about the story. That helped. The bus was not that big (about 18) and air conditioned. Good value for money.
The trip was great. City Rio was punctual with the start time of the tour, complying with all scheduled schedule. Highlight to the Guide Marco (Chilean), who led the class with harmony. Being super friendly, with nice information during the tour and always helpful.
